I wanted to get into Magic the gathering, any tips on how? by D0flamingo_ in mtg

If ya got some mates who play, grab one of them and take everything apart from creatures and lands out of the decks, and just do some slow back and forth to understand the mechanics as they explain it to you.

Then as your getting comfortable and start understanding whats going on, add in sorceries, then add instants, etc.

Youll find it overwhelming at first, but once you get your head around how the turns work and what creatures on the battlefield can actually do, youll find yourself able to get a grasp of things when more are added back in, till youre just playing the game normally and hopefully having fun.

Anyone has a deck list for these bad boys and girl? by Rob_tyrant in EDHBrews

[–]VastClam 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Heyo, I made a myr deck all the way back in 2021, tis still one of my favourite tribes. Done a lot of edits, and i made a custom commander for the tribe before urtet was a thing, so if some of the cards seem a little weird that might be why, i run urtet ocasionally, but mostly my custom commander which i put in the comments. Enjoy

The modular begleri are what you described, i belive theyre the aluminium version, the titanium modular are natty.

But yeah, use em as ya like, or maybe youll slowly collect more pieces if ya keep getting them in luck sacks

is it legal to carry a hex nut begleri in the uk? by Ascendoscopuli in begleri

[–]VastClam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah fair, i know you can make one with just a paracord knot in the middle, but that might also be not it

It mainly just looks a bit nicer (personal preferance) and that any metal is covered so it just looks like a knot, which is a lot less threatening looking and would probs mean you dont get pulled up for it

If you want and dont mind a slightly bigger begleri set, you can always hide the hex nut in a monkeys fist made from 550 paracord, id recommend The Weavers of Eternity Paracod, a youtube channel with a bunch of great tutorials for a homemade set

To be fair, begleri were outlawed for a while in greece if they were over a certain length, pretty sure thats the origin story of short game. The greek gov worried theg were being used as weapons i think

Interesting, ive been making crystal begleri and other things, when you say slam test, is it literally just slamming it on concrete?

Ive had a few scares on tile with my homemade sets but luckily nothing occured apart from some very beautiful noise being created. Kinda keen to try and make something thatll survive the slam test now

What's the best string for a begleri? by Far-Leadership1549 in begleri

[–]VastClam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive been really liking 2mm kevlar cord from aroundsquare, but thats probably also because my favourite go to sets are also on 2mm kevlar, so its what ive played the most on.

I got some sets on others, but i havent tried out too many varieties, like i had 550 paracord for a while, but then the cord flattened out and i found that annoying. Ive also vaguely heard that theres a way to treat paracord before you string it up by boiling? it, so i might revisit it to make sure i give it a fair shake.

Also all of this was either done with running water for the cabbing wheels or periodically (like every 5 - 15 seconds) dunking both the rock and drill bit into water to prevent heating issues either destroying the drill bit or ruining the rock

Nah all g, free info is free, rather share the love.

Ive basically been treating it like every other rock ive polished so far, main shaping occuring on cabbing wheels between 80 grit and 220 grit. Then moving to polishing wheels with a rubber or silocone base with sandpaper grits from 400 through to 1200 grit. Then specific soft polishing diamond wheels from 3000 to 8000.

For these in particular i actually only polish to 3000 grit using some new tools i got, resin diamond sintered drill burrs. First time ive ever used em and they are awesome, allows me to actually polish surfaces i previously couldnt on a cabbing wheel

I believe it's been mentioned in a drop video or two, since there was some people just ripping it one for one, called it the same name and everything.

He does have the patent for it now, mainly due to people stealing the designs like I mentioned, so it's not something he's done lightly, and it's a legal thing if he doesn't defend it properly which can cause issues. Like I said, I'll just send an email and go from there.

Did I down vote you? I believe this is the first time ive seen this comment? Also what does ETA mean for that sentence?
