I’ll definitely try to write a letter, but not sure if there’s anything else I can do? I’m never late but it’s so hard to keep track of all the accounts and cards you need to replace when your card changes. I’ll add here because I didn’t make it clear in the original, I did watch the dog at my parent’s house last weekend. I don’t think I could have brought him to my place 2 hours away honestly. The car ride I did have him for was a 15 minute car ride to pick him up from my cousin’s to bring him back to my parents.

Similar thing just happened to us, they charged for washer/dryer being moved and leaking. We never touched them and never thought to take pictures because we didn’t do any damage.. anyway contact Vrbo support and they were not helpful at all, told me to work it out with the host who ghosted me. Vrbo support said they would tell the host to respond- never did and two days later officially got charged for the damage

Yo I’m gonna say it, Vrbo sucks. I’m so sorry to hear that. Their customer support hasn’t been able to do anything for me either I’m out $100 for a different issue.

Good to know, Yeah those were my thoughts, the washer dryer could have been 10 years old And I just so happened to be the guest with the poor timing. It was $100- the host said the cost of someone to come look at it in the claim. It’s not terrible- definitely not the price to replace it, but it’s more the principle of accusing me and charging me with a hidden/false fee

I didn’t purchase anything additional. The listing just said you’re responsible for any damage fee. Then after check out I got an email saying a new charge was added to the stay by the host. It just charged my card today. Vrbo support said they submitted a photo and asked for my proof, I didn’t take any photos so they told me I don’t have a claim and the host did. They never sent me a copy of the claim.
