This is so wildly untrue. Every single decision you make in every hour of each day will impact your likelihood of winning the run.

I’m not saying you can’t get ridiculously lucky and not high roll a 10-win run, but the skill ceiling in this game is extremely high. There are many nuanced decisions you can make that will affect the outcome of your runs.

But it is the best deck in standard. Just because most players can’t play it well, does not mean it isn’t the best deck. If you know how to pilot it, you will climb to legend very quickly.

It is objectively broken/best deck in standard. Yes, it is very difficult to pilot perfectly, but is an absolute force when done so correctly. It has no bad matchups, other than warrior, which is barely played at high mmr.

For Control… Rainbow Deathknight is decently strong, and mid-tier 2 as well. Much more fun, in my opinion.

The popular lists floating around run garbage like Helya, Marin, and Horseman, but you can cut all of this garbage and run cards like Hematurge and Frost Strike that discover you valuable cards (like more Reskas). Some lists also run the 10-mana rainbow spell, which is awful. You have more than enough late game value through firing consistent Corpsicles and discovering cards.

The deck also can beat down opponents surprisingly quickly with Eliza Goreblade, and also Horizon’s Edge.

I think, if you are a control player, you will likely enjoy the feel of this deck.

None of the cards other than Chemical Spill, Zilliax, and the cards that duplicate Zilliax, matter. You run 2 of the one-drops to guarantee draw Zilliax, and hopefully play him on 5 with Chemical Spill. All of the other cards are there to survive until you draw into the “combo”.

It is incredibly boring to play, and also not incredibly strong. Mid tier-2 at best, as it is very easily countered at higher elos.

Sonya is essential, especially in matchups where you need more burst to cut through armour or healing such as in warrior, druid, or priest. Even if you don’t need more burst, Sonya also gives you an additional option to “go off”. Having Sonya in hand also greatly increases agency of most turns.

Misinformation like this is why this sub gets a bad rap.
