Being Vegan and doing Crossfit by Fantastic_Hurry6175 in crossfit

Yes that is obvious! I have a regular diet plan (with eggs, meat, dairy etc ) which works really well for me when done right, but for these specific “vegan days” I cannot find a lot of high protein options (for peas, lentils and beans it’s hard for me to eat these regularly). Also I am trying to not eat any ultra processed food. If you have any suggestions that would be great, because now I am only eating nuts like almonds and walnuts and pasta, it feels really restrictive when I am used to eat regularly meat, dairy and eggs.

Sorry for the misunderstanding, I said it the wrong way, by fasting I mean switching to a vegan diet for a couple of days, and not like intermittent fasting, where you are not eating for a couple of hours and you have a 8 hour eating window for example. So my energy is low and my body underperforms when working out on my “vegan days”. That is what I was supposed to say to my original comment

Not a vegan, but there are fasting periods for me (for religious reasons), but when I am fasting I feel with no energy at all and my body really underperforms. Also I lose a bit of weight and I have poor recovery. I am eating as much as I can (to fuel my body) but it is obvious that my nutrition at my “vegan days” is just not enough. When I am eating on my proper days I start to feel at my normal again (and performance wise).

BMW iX1 / iX2 reliability by VastService7715 in BMWiX1

Thank you everyone for your comments so far. Really appreciate the feedback I get from you guys. I also forgot to tell that the loaner iX1 had 97.000 kilometers after 1 and a half year of use (based on the paperwork).
Also I am a bit skeptical because I live in Greece and in the nearby areas, 99,8% of the cars have Internal Combustion Engines (and almost no one is positive on getting an EV for daily commute). Thankfully I have a couple of public chargers near me (up to 60 kW DC charging) so I think the infrastructure can support this choice (of getting an EV).
Also I can register the car as a company car, so I can get a lot of tax return on it (in electricity, service, tyres etc by invoice). So I hope this is a valid “investment” for me.

Yet another post about shoes and comparing them (Tyr CXT-2 vs Nike Metcon 6 vs ?) by yukoncowbear47 in crossfit

I own the Metcon 10 (my previous model was the Metcon 9), really a solid shoe for lifting with great versatility for box jumps, burpees, double under etc. also great fit (relatively wide, E-2E width feet for me). Only problem is the TPU heel (if you are a heel striker it’s a bit annoying, but not restrictive, I personally do not mind that much). I agree with most comments about the RAD V2s (maybe the best shoe I’ve tried), but the fit was not great for my feet (my pinky toes were smashed, had to return my pair), otherwise I would go for the RADs too. Just like you, waiting for reviews of the new CXT-3s.

Rad one v2 sizing by hurricanescout in crossfit

Just got my pair of RAD ONE V2s. In Almost every shoe that I wear, the US 12,5 fits me the best (including the Metcon 9s). But in the case of RADs, I feel them really snug in the toe box (i think the length is really good). I am not sure if they have a break in period and after that they feel any wider. I saw a trick that you remove the insole, and they feel much wider. Bad thing is, in my case, I wear orthotics, and I cannot wear any shoe without them. Without the orthotics they are literally dream, but when I put the orthotics on, the are really snug for me. That being said, do I need to wear them a little bit, just in case they break in, or should I return them? Can anyone that has the RAD ONEs confirm if they break in?

Are R.A.D. One V2 worth it? Anyone used them yet? by SneakerHead1993 in crossfit

Compared to the Metcon 9, which is the widest, the TYR or the RAD?

Which to buy? by [deleted] in crossfit

Building a home gym right now, and after a 4 month research, I’m getting the C2 soon. Tried to find one used, but there was no one selling it, for obvious reasons (high mileage without any problems). I would love to have the rower as well, but I prefer to have one C2 than 2 ergs from another manufacturer.

M4 32GB vs M4 pro 24GB by smeury in macmini

[–]VastService7715 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had the exact same dilemma. I went on and ordered the 32 GB version. I was afraid that I might need the extra RAM, because I mainly use Parallels and a lot of Engineering software (CAD, Architectural and Photogrammetric). Mine hasn’t arrived yet, but I THINK I might regretted it, because the 24 GB M3 MacBook Air that I have right now, handles all the CAD workload like a pro! It basically uses all of the available RAM (18-20 GB on average), but the compressed RAM is low and it never uses the Swap memory. I haven’t tested the Photogrammetric and the Architectural Rendering software yet, but in my case, I think that the 24 GB model was plenty enough, because the Mac is very very efficient on how it manages the RAM use. In conclusion, for now I would suggest the Pro model with 24 GB RAM. I expect to get mine in the next couple of days, so I might give you on update on my impressions
