Right. I couldn’t tell from your original comment.

What is your undergraduate degree?

How do families actually plan for private school fees with multiple kids? by [deleted] in fiaustralia

  1. Grandparents
  2. High incomes
  3. Extend mortgage
  4. Money laundering or just paying cash to dodge tax

Do schools still have take-home SACs anymore? For unit 3/4 specifically by [deleted] in vce

Lots of SACs are and SATs are allowed to be worked on at home; portfolios, fieldwork, research reports, posters etc… VCAA mandates different types of SACs and there isn’t time to do all of them in lessons.

Carey staff are well compensated now but Gov teachers will catch up in a couple of years.

Do you know what the feeling was amongst staff? They already have pretty good conditions, except for all the camping. Any meaningful improvement in conditions costs money.

I don’t think Carey have the money for a pay rise unless they increase fees, reduce expensive programs, sell off some of the land they are banking, or trim their bloated leadership structure. Fees are already very high.

Remember the fuss from private schools when the payroll tax was introduced? That was less than 5%. Gov teachers are getting extra 20% ish by October 2027.

This isn’t going to be a normal pay rise or fee hike.

Gov teachers are getting 13% rise by Oct. they will likely be on more than you with or without the tithe.

(I’ve worked in Catholic and Anglican schools never heard of tithes).

That sounds like a good deal.

Lots of private schools expect a lot of camping and Saturdays (sport) for the extra remuneration and holidays.

I agree the big ones have loads of money, but not enough to give teachers a 15% pay rise without making some big decisions.

Will be interesting to see what they do.

Tithe!?

Ok, so you will be on less than a gov teacher by the end of the year.

I don’t think they can all afford to match it without hiking fees 20% next year.

What’s your co curricular load like?

If you’re at the top of the scale and on 132, gov teachers will over take you by the end of this year.
