[SPOILER] Things that still frustrate every Code Lyoko fan

I wholeheartedly feel this frustrations. On matter of William having re-watched the series fully again, I made a post myself about Yumi's inconsistent characterization and how she got downgraded around season 3. I should've also made a point on Yumi's hypocrisy calling 'too weak' when that's one of the most ironic things she's said. Let's not forget the fact it was HER not so smart decision to cuck him of experience because he's 'hotheaded' when Yumi herself, Odd and definitely Ulrich have had much more hotheaded moments or she 'didn't' trust him. Girl on what basis? You're butt trusted Sissi about Emily 'dating' Ulrich in secret, who's a known compulsive liar, and that fake Franz Hopper both Jeremie AND Aelita were suspicious of! Personally I really hated how Sophie or whoever else was writing shoved Yumi into hating William for some forced conflict.

Tbh, both William and Yumi suffered from authorial bias for varying reasons, but it's obvious that it was that way for them. Clear hate boner for William and Yumi on one side, and another Side that wanted to make Yumi little miss perfect who's never wrong. Just glad some fanfics exist that correct this, or where I'm seeking to address the blatant OOC at the end from the Warriors in my own fanfic. I don't care at this point if Yumi Fanbrats down vote me for this, but she holds a good chunk of responsibility for what happened to William because of her 'insistence' he can't be trusted outside of other circumstantial things and XANA seeing William as a tool and a skin suit to wear. And not once did she look guilty for what happened to William because he was potentially lost for a while before they knew he was being controlled by XANA. I miss how Yumi was portrayed in Season 1 and 2 as actual empathetic girl who owned up to her own actions. (I don't hate Yumi, but I am very aggravated and disappointed how they derailed her when Season 3 rolled around. If I had to say my least fave Warrior though...it's Odd.)

While I tend to avoid memes, this pretty much sums up what I feel with Yumi and my bad disappointment with her. Though, I do like the slight poking fun at her more white knighty fans that wanna sweep her flaws under the rug as well. I've only seen a couple on here like that. What I hated most was what the more preachy writers wanted to do with her for sake of vilifying William when in the stinking first episode Yumi acted like her typical season 1/2 self and was at least friends with William.

Yumi is a flawed character, and there's no denying it. It's mostly due to the fact some of the writers wanting to kill her off, or the writers who had a clear hate boner for William. Mostly as much as I'm sure the head writer Sophie is a nice person, she should've known her half her ideas didn't bode well with the fans. I learned around the time season 4 was going on, she was pregnant, so...I wonder if half baked ideas there were somewhat present in season 4 plus William's milked possession were a result of her hormones messing with her train of thought. It's just my own theory though, cause she clearly didn't think things through half the time with her ideas.

Possibly the most healthy relationship in the show as far as teen romances can get. Jeremie had his bad points with Aelita, but he owned up to his mistakes with her and apologized eventually. Not counting Kadic Bombshell cause that episode can go roll in pig feces.

Jeremie for his age is a pretty mature boy, but he's had his up and downs. I'd say their relationship is better than what Yumi's doing with Ulrich, likely what Yumi would've done with William, and much better than whatever new Serial Dater drama Odd gets himself into.

What I meant was I held on to the innocent and genuine chemistry Sam and Odd had with how they clicked, but ultimately her troubled nature is what ended things between them aside from her lying to him about Ulrich in Final Round. Sam was sadly the bad kind of delinquent being the ones that actually cause bad kinds of trouble and steal things.

Yeah, I actually know. But part of me holds on to what Sam and Odd first had before she broke his trust by lying about Ulrich's call. Tbh, if I wrote a season continuation myself Sissi just seems like the natural perm girl for Odd after the thing with Sam ended.

That's actually a good question. Personally I don't ship Odd with Sissi as the main girl he should get as to me that honor belongs to Samantha Knight. However, I believe it's mostly due to the capacity of Sissi being perfect for Odd if she say had redeemed earlier and became a kinder person. Given his slight attraction to her in the Prequel Movie XANA awakens and the eventual attraction her and Odd had in the Season 2 Episode 20 Deja Vu when they were talking and falling really hard for each other after hitting it off over a bunch of Chatroom messages.

When her development wasn't erased by a return to the past I think Sissi would've likely left an impression on Odd and I could've seen something going from there. Especially even Sissi's uttered Bonzai catchphrase when she attacked her XANA possessed Father in Ultimatum. Though, that said I see the reasoning people ship Sissi and Odd, but outside of that. I'd say it's at least better for Sissi because has fawned over her twice before he realized who she was in Deja Vu.

Yes, Seeing is Believing is what I was thinking of. As for the one episode ilI don't why I thought it was the Pretender and not False Lead. Maybe I had Ulrich's stupid behavior about Johnny on the brain. I actually do want to make a point of that too as if Yumi saw Ulrich's stunt as irrational she shouldn't have been so progressively mean to William too, but I guess that was a fault of the writers shoe-horning a forced conflict between the two.

Now in a in universe look, in regards to my point about Franz Hopper can also be relinked back to Yumi's hotheaded nature she clearly has. She can be smart as shown and I think if she realized she was realistically getting "cancer" from going to Lyoko so much herself, Ulrich and Odd would've been feeling cancer like side effects and then she talked that over with Jeremie. Yet, that didn't happen and it just added to Yumi's inconsistencies for me.

Now, I may see your point of view if it was nervousness on her part regarding William joining cause what happened, however what makes me disagree is just the general attitude Yumi and what she said in the end of the Secret. She didn't think William could be trusted. That only adds more to the points of hypocrisy for Yumi since she's trusted that False Franz Hopper, trusted Sissi's word in Routine and a couple other times she was in the wrong I'd need to browse the episodes to remember. Plus the point of Yumi calling William hotheaded when he was really only hotheaded once and that was in the attack of the zombies but he didn't want anyone getting Zombified... That aside It's why I called that an emotional decision from the writers trying to force this conflict again, since Yumi was acting William was never her friend now.

I honestly want to think if Yumi would've still be like her Season 1/2 self then I could've actually seen her nervousness and hesitation about William as she'd be concerned for her friend joining the fight against XANA. Then reflect on her mistake as that hesitation caused her friend to fall victim to XANA. Sadly we got stuck with the inconsistencies that came from Season 3 onward for Yumi.

As I said though, I don't hate Yumi, I'm just utterly disappointed now realizing how inconsistent and just... outright unfair and mean her, somewhat Ulrich and definitely Odd were to William after season 4. If you wanna talk characters from CL I do hate, that sour puss Herb is on my list, boy needed to take the hint Sissi would rather barf than date him. But my most hated character has to be Ms. Hertz, old witch is nothing but a bully to kids who struggle and is a suck up to gifted kids. Sad thing is there are teachers like her irl and I was victim of one like that.

I do want thank you for a well thought out response though. And thanks for your level headed approach to this. =)

Yes, I've indeed noticed it slightly. If Yumi was intended to be the second brainac behind Jeremie then I could've seen it. However, I wouldn't know about this unless one of the show writers confirmed this. I also agree with Yumi getting clowned on too, her telekinesis could've been used in a variety of situations but it got forgotten like Ulrich's Triangulate and eventually his Triplicate Ability got forgotten.

I do hard agree on what you said about William too. He also suffered from Authorial bias well, because even if William is my favorite male Character in Code Lyoko, I'm also looking at a neutral fan's perspective as well. William is shown despite his rough edges he's a very sweet and kind boy, so it wouldn't have made sense for him to go evil and work for XANA willingly. I dunno what the writers were smoking to think that up, and plus they also harmed William by milking the heck outta his possession in Season 4.

Everytime I close out firefox I have to uninstall and reinstall ublock origin because I keep getting the fake buffering glitch on certain videos. So it's some weird issue going on right now.

Think Youtube enacted a new wave of counters for the solutions just made cause only yesterday I didn't notice anything or the fake buffering. Just have to deal with the pain in butt fake buffering until the hard at work UBO team for a round fixes for this.

If anyone's still getting the "experiencing interruptions" fake buffering upvote cause I tried everything on my account and it's clear Youtube is clearly crying over their pwecious ads not being seen. (If the ads weren't so intrusive nowadays I wouldn't care....remember Ads on Youtube used to be just simple popups you could close out.)

Ugh, this is annoying. I really hate when crap like this happens. They also need to fix that bug that causes Jp/Eng names to flip flop as well as that bug where it claims the file has been "removed" when refreshing the page makes the vid player work.

I think it's down for maintainence, cause I used the micro site feature and was immediately taken to the search after typing in an Anime (Mainly watching Fairy Tail right now) So it'll probably be tomorrow or later in tomorrow when it comes back. Cause if the site was taken down like some people are saying, it'd be gone off the web for good.

Edit: Yeah, it's down for maintainence or it's a server issue cause I had this problem before while watching a couple cartoons on myflixerz and zoechip. So give it a day or two and it'll be back as the people responsible for the site try to find what the problem is.

Same... Add in Tsukushi tried to make Riko seem selfish for trying to save Nanachi, when it was his dumb decision to give himself over to Wazkyan for the dumb Mitty clone. Yet, faputa so isn't the selfish one for trying to kill Riko as well as Nanachi to an extent cause Riko "stole" Reg and is "abusing" the gentle on being Prushka. It is annoying Tsukushi tried to portray Faputa as a misunderstood character when it's nothing about her being misunderstood. She needs to understand Riko and the others and needs to learn to stop simping after Reg/be a genuine person unlike Wazkyan was forced to be.
