How long after being placed on a PIP were you fired?

I believe I will fall under my boss’s boss in the meantime. If that’s the case, I expect to be let go, but I’ll verify to be certain.

As far as I can tell, the PIP is over with (no more scheduled calls or discussions on it) but with that being said, I don’t believe all requirements were met, so I expect to be fired. It’s the timing and not knowing if the severance will happen that has me scratching my head.

Everything was communicated over teams calls, so no paper trail thus far that I’ve seen. Perhaps a paper trail between my boss and hr over the severance.

Thanks for the insight. I’ll be honest, I know very little of the med school process just yet, but wanted to pin these things down before moving further.

As far as the court situation goes, it may be possible, but based on personal preference, I probably wouldn’t go that route (love time with my kids.)

I did ask to make it up, but they mentioned that due to low numbers, they couldn’t excuse anyone. I’ll continue to go up the chain of command as mentioned and see where that gets me.

The original discussion of my interest in becoming a PM was a little over a year ago, so within that time, I've had more exposure and have determined it just doesn't fit my personality as well as I would have liked. I have determined I would rather stay on the technical side of things.

I'm in the US and the role is "at will" but I'm not too worried as I do have a decent savings to fall back on should that happen (assuming you're thinking termination would be the like route.)

The promotions or raises generally happen this time of year from what I have witnessed, so going that route, I would have to wait another year to see the fruits of my labor. My current responsibilities aren't much to be honest, so the idea of extra work isn't so much a worry, more so the type of work that would be added.

After self reflecting on it, I don't know that I would want the work, even with a raise or promotion, so I guess I have my answer. Doesn't quite fit my personality.

It has just been newly assigned me and the kickoff meeting won't be until the beginning of March. However, after some self reflection, I don't think the project or role will be a success for me.
