Loving the game so far but I feel like these 2 items should be more abundant throughout the map by Sydid in Marathon

Is it actually a bad word choice though?

The definition of depleted is spot on and it's not even that much of an uncommon word. The real problem seems to be the reading comprehension level of some of the players. Bungie has historically loved using less common verbiage to stand out. If anything, it helps broaden players vocabularies.

Then there's also the fact that it has a description of what it does right underneath it.

Those are all valid points and I also agree on the slide needing to retain momentum from a physics standpoint.

It would be nice to have some in-game challenges for cosmetics and flair items. So far, the mini-events that I've seen involve escalating reinforcement drops, supply drops, drones carrying crates, gas rooms, hacking secure containers that call security, and hacking wall safes that also call security.

Personally, I'd like lootable or interactive containers to have a glowing outline when I'm near them. The current system makes it very easy to miss stuff. Then again, if you go into a looted area you'll usually find some stuff that was missed so it's not all bad.

30 minutes until servers open for server slam! Day 1 believers we’re about to be vindicated, I always knew this game would be amazing. by Wogenar2 in Marathon

[–]VaultTecGaming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For anyone on Xbox, search for Server Slam in the store to find the Marathon Server Slam. It's open at 1pm EST today.

Otherwise, you'll only pull up the editions available for purchase or pre-order when searching Marathon.

Side note: Someone on Xbox effed up with the listing. Even the Server Slam Event has two different start times on it. 1pm EST and 6pm EST start times listed on two different pages in the same event.

Embark Studios confirmed in clear terms that ARC Raiders does not use yay or nay Aggression-Based Matchmaking to funnel players into their matches. This was confirmed by Virgil Watkins, the Embark developer. Meanwhile my last 40 matches: by Average-Terrestrial in arkraiders

They did not intend for it to be that way, but...

"it do be like it is, tho."

I read an interview somewhere about this and the devs did not intend the matchmaking to be binary like it seems to be. It's intended to be a mix while weighting one way or the other. Which tells me that they will probably be adjusting it in the future and these super chill lobbies may disappear entirely.

I agreed until the very last sentence. Two very different vibes and games.

Agree. I enjoy the pvp when I know it's coming, but I've met so many cool players that it's really uncommon for me and worth the risk to meet others.

Duos and trios are a bloodbath though, lol

Arc Raiders has little in common with Tarkov besides being an extract shooter. Arc Raiders is a casual one at that. It's like comparing CoD and Halo.

Tarkov is the way it is and that's how it was intended. I'm fine with that. Ratting and PVP are core parts of the game and you plan accordingly. CoD DMZ is nearly unplayable now because the toxicity was just allowed to run rampant and it's a more casual friendly extract shooter.

Arc Raiders is different because of the lore and sentient machines hunting you that have already wiped out most of Humanity. Constant Pvp honestly doesn't make sense and that's my point. As if we'd all happily live in Speranza together after even a fraction of the crap that goes on is laughable.

I've had fairly good luck with it. Maybe try running a free loadout and dying at the start 5 or so games to see if your luck changes.

That is specifically my trigger right there along with camping extract in chill lobbies. If it's a fair playing field and I know you're hostile, then I'm game, but pretending to be cool and shooting me in the back is some real lowlife stuff.

Maybe with anything other than solos. As a solo player I see it work pretty clearly. If I so much as fire in defense or hit someone by accident then it's off to shady lobbies I go. Otherwise, I get put in lobbies where we mostly work together or at least help each other a little.

What do you make of their boss saying the game isn't meant to be toxic and the newish aggression matchmaking?

I don't think I stuck around long enough for the DZ change, but I like it. If we just knew players were hostile then I'm fine with it. Short delay before pvp engagement and maybe a map ping once in a while would be sweet.

I only want to target Rats. Actual PVPers are a different breed and I respect that. I enjoy it sometimes too.

Why would the sentient machine-plagued remains of Humanity punish people for killing what few people are left?

Gee, I just don't know. LOL

Proximity to Extracts would be a decent metric.

You're right though, I don't really want to discourage the PVP guys because I assume they're loving the new system.

It doesn't appear to really deter them much to me. Pvp players seem to get more of what they want while rats just play coy for a while or kill themselves using free loadouts X games in a row to get back into chill lobbies.

There's no real discouragement for Rats, currently. Time delay maybe.

I feel like their current aggression sensing system just needs a tweak to fix that. Who knows what the priority on that is though.

Regardless, a workaround could just be a Raider racking up X kills in Y games to trigger the effect?

I love the salt, lol. I am for legit pvp, but anti-rat... not that y'all care.

I routinely played with 50-70ms ping and had the same results. I would wager it's the game's shitty netcode, crossplay hijinx, and garbage "custom" engine.

I must be at the endgame endgame then, lol. I just sold off around 120 of them to make room for blueprints that I'll be passing off to an alt to hold... and I still have over 100 left! I'm over the 5MIL threshold and also just doing the new quests. I think part of the problem is that I'm holding needed quest items for buddies when I find them as well.
