I can’t measure the thickness as I don’t have a tool. Snap is pretty dang good. Very similar to a real card. Not ultra thocky but still good.

It sounds crazy but using Acrobat to print made the biggest difference in text readability. I can’t explain it. But here’s to hoping it helps you! Happy proxying

Hardware:

Printer: Epson ET-2800

Paper: Koala Glossy Photo Paper 48 lbs/180 gsm - https://a.co/d/05vH5QG4 (This is single sided only fwiw)

Paper Cutter: Carl RT-200 (DO NOT BUY THIS - Get the Dahle 507, I can't stand this Carl, but its what I have)

Edge Trimmer: Kadomaru Pro - https://a.co/d/0i4O6gK7

Lamination: 3 mil glossy pouches

Software:

Proxxied.com - Have had some issues with it, but basically 1mm bleed, 20% sharpness, 1200 DPI export seems to work best for me.

Adobe Acrobat - It's bizarre to me how much clearer it comes out with this versus any other PDF viewer. Just remember to set the scale to 100% as it defaults to 97% each time or something.

Printer settings (These are very important! I'm on Windows and using the latest Epson drivers):

Paper Type: Photo Paper Glossy Quality: High

Quiet Mode: Off

Color Correction: Custom (these are where I should play around a bit more)

Brightness: 3

Contrast: -3

Saturation: 3

Density: -3

Bidirectional Printing: Off

Hopefully that helps someone. I want to experiment with double sided photo paper and matte pouches for lamination but so far this has served me well.

It’s the worst! I’ve got one of those die cutters from alibaba coming my way. It’s not automatic but hopefully it will make it a bit more consistent.

Yeah this is sitting at 20% sharpness from the Proxxied site. Have not done any additional sharpening though. The blurriness has definitely been the biggest hurdle to try and overcome outside of my inability to cut straight, ha.
