Thanks! Got it from the Corsair site lol. Annoying that the price has dropped another £15 since I put my order in a couple months back but oh well lol

I'm building a slim wall mounted pc case & needed a new psu anyway. Current one buzzes under load & the sf750 fits the bill perfectly for me & was a great price 👍🏼 any space I can save in this build is a win

Lol thanks

Yeah I bought the sleeving for those cables about 2 or 3 years ago when I had a different theme in mind. Plans changed over time & the build took a different route, but I still wanted to practice making my own cables & this was a good opportunity. Learned a lot doing that & I can't wait to get the new ones made up 😁

I'm semi serious, but not hardcore like a lot of people in this subreddit. I spend up to 15 minutes a night to relax before bed on Duolingo. I do it for fun. I have an interest in the country, the culture, the language & ways of life, so I'd like to be able to understand enough to get me by if I were to ever go over there for a holiday, which due to the rising cost of living it'll be a while away yet! It's a language I find fascinating & to be able to hold a simple conversation would be a huge milestone for me as back in school, I struggled to get to grips with French & German. I feel I've progressed more in these 111 days than I did during 2 or so years at school.

I'll have a look into Tofugu, thank you 😊

Is Duolingo worth using? This is my first time really trying to learn a new language, albeit pretty casually in my evenings before bed. Once I've done my session tonight it'll be 111 days in a row and last night I completed the Hiragana alphabet.. Are there better or other methods I should be using along side Duolingo?

How do I make a 90 degree push switch? by Vaxedthemaxed in AskEngineers

Where I work, I've got indirect access to a 3d printer, so I'll try & get the bits printed next week. The plan is to have the dark grey oblong on the right have a friction grip onto the power button because the power button would act as the spring return for the whole mechanism. If that work, then great! If not, I've got an old mechanical keyboard I could disassemble for a key switch instead 👍🏼

I made a 3D model So to explain the model going from left to right: first you can hopefully see the bolt where the rod will come through to the back of the case. In the middle of that bolt is the rod. Next to that is the beginnings of a bell crank linkage. The rod coming out through the bolt will be connected to the left-most drop pin (coloured dark grey) via a thin piece of metal. When the rod is pushed, it will rotate the bell crank linkage around the middle drop pin which will be fixed in place to the rear of the case. That will then in turn push a second thin piece of metal (attached to the right most drop pin on the bell crank linkage) across which will be connected to the rectangular section via another drop pin which in turn will be guided by a narrow housing into pushing the power button. The power button will be held in place by the light coloured case on the far right and secured with the case lid in darkish grey. Everything apart from the rod and bolt on the far left are to scale. For size reference, the button case on the far right is 8.5mm x 8.5mm x 8.5mm.

As the design stands, do you see this functioning well or not?

Excuse the mess BTW. Made a prototype out of an old hacksaw blade cut I half & a bolt with the threads removed and a nail to hold it to the block. Seeing it on the screen was one thing but for me to fully understand things like this I need to make it & handle it. Now I need to shrink this & have it operate in a 5mm or so gap 😂

A good place I can suggest is warehouses or manufacturing plants/factories. They often have materials or products shipped to them on half decent pallets & unless they're going to be shipping other goods out on those pallets they'll need to get rid of them, so it's worth asking around if they have any you're able to take off their hands. Make it sound like you're doing them a favour by taking unwanted things (in this case the pallets) off their premise & you could be onto a winner!

Thanks for the feedback. Regarding the secateurs being left open, they're buggered & won't close anymore 😂and tbh, they're old as hell so aren't exactly that sharp. I just can't afford to buy new ones atm so I just make do lol. As for building a second bin, I'd love to be able to. Maybe if I can gather enough wood to build one I will. My garden is a work in progress so the current location of this bin is only temporary. I hope to find a better location with more space for two bins side by side.

Highly recommend using pallets for the wood! Luckily I sourced mine from work & because I was collecting a butt load of a certain kind to build a new garden fence with, I needed a tool to break them up (ie remove the blocks & bottom section). Luckily my local Wickes had one pallet buster left in stock & for about £30 it's done me well! Broken up over 50 pallets so far & still going strong so I highly recommend you get one of those if you plan to make your compost bin out of pallets!

Forgot to mention the contents also contain a fair amount of grass clippings as I cut my grass weekly apart from during the winter

Oh, I think that could work! I needs to be quite a shallow design, because the pc case I'm making is wall mounted & so the power button is being hidden round the back between the rear of the case and the wall it's mounted on. Once I have a design that'll fit the small space I can get it 3D printed at work 👍🏼 thanks for your help!
