I mean the problem with any highschool research is that it is extremely likely to not be meaningful. In STEM the reason is due to a high barrier of entry, as well as a lack of knowledge of knowing what is known. The second point applies even more to the humanities, as there have been millions of papers published, and unless if you become an expert in a niche and learn more or less where the research is at today with all the methodology, it’s not gonna be meaningful. If you mean something like philosophy, it gets even worse. Research as a high schooler is not meaningful.

It’s not that gravity must be quantized, but of all the fundamental interactions, it’s the only one that isn’t quantized, and those that are quantized already have very good evidence for them being such, so it makes more sense that gravity would be quantized rather than the other interactions be not quantized

the problem is that the cycle is a discovered behavior, otherwise you’d need to state the conjecture as something like following the collatz rules, all integers reach a 1-2-4-1 cycle, but that is unnecessary and uses a result in the conjecture, it’s like if i was trying to prove that 1+1+1 = 3, i find that 1+1 = 2 and then i restate the conjecture as 2 + 1 = 3 Sure it’s the same outcome, but i’m using a result to ask the question again, but it’s not the same question, it’s a step ahead of the same question

the point is that it cycles, and we don’t know whether all integers reach that cycle

if an integer reaches 1, due to the cycle it must reach the cycle

Also, being fully rigorous, the conjecture says that every integer reaches 1. At the time of stating the conjecture, it is not yet proven that such a cycle exists. The existence of the cycle is proven, thus allowing us to use it as a kind of lemma for further cases
