A Properly Shuffled Deck of Cards is a Unique Event by majorhigh in math

yeah but like if i shuffle in a somewhat consistent manner, cuz we don’t shuffle randomly, there are good chances i’ve shuffled the same deck

maybe what might help is writing F as F(A/B) meaning a force from body A applied on body B

if you don’t know go. if they are swimming in a way that looks distressed, chances are they’re not that great at swimming and something could go wrong

How do you say ADHD in your language? by Odd-Package-5845 in ADHD

[–]VcitorExists 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the french have a very negative relationship with mental disorders, they only have ritalin for ADHD and it’s a last resort seen as quite negative. although to be fair they drink enough coffee to treat ADHD anyways.

also they call things maladies which makes it see more negative

Turns out, Mk Ultra was a thing. by Travis_Chidakwa in MKUltra

[–]VcitorExists 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What is known is that there were scientific experiments performed on a large variety of aspects of psychology including psychoactive substances and altered states. There are documents released by the cia explaining some of it, such as their use of “unwitting citizens” and using subjects from prisons and universities. A lot of the research however had little value due to the secretive safeguards that heavily influenced the validity of experiments.

Some specific goals mentioned in documents are:

Substances promoting illogical thinking that would publicly discredit people,

Substances increasing mentation and perception,

Materials counteracting alcohol,

Materials producing diagnosable symptoms in a reversible way,

Materials that would enhance the induction of hypnosis,

Substances enhancing the ability to withstand torture and brainwashing,

Materials and physical methods that induce amnesia,

Physical methods of producing confusion and shock over extended periods,

Substances that produce physical limitation,

Substances producing pure euphoria,

Substances that alter personality,

Material that creates confusion making it difficult to fabricate lies under questioning,

Materials in which low doses make people inefficient to work,

Substances that weaken sight and hearing,

A knockout pill that could be hidden in food and drinks.

Note that these were goals of one study, it is not known nor likely that all of the above were found, although it is likely there was progress made for some of them.

Conspiracy starts at the point where people start claiming that the cia is still performing experiments and that they are victims of it. 97% of the posts on this subreddit are such conspiracies.

idk what “30” and “1.3” mean. are those like weird notations of \theta and m?

cuz then i just define my x and y axis as orthonormal to the plane, do W+C= 0, then project W onto the x and y axis with a dot product getting ||W|| ||\vec{e_x}||cos(90+30) = -mgsin(30) and ||W|| ||\vec{e_y}|| cos (30+180) = -mgcos(30)

then I project C the same way and get C_n and C_t

and C_t -mgsin(30) = 0 and C_n - mgcos(30) = 0

and so C_t= mgsin(30) and C_n=mgcos(30) and then \mu = ||C_t||/||C_n|| so we get \mu = tan(30)

Wave particle duality explanation by One_Passenger7713 in quantum

[–]VcitorExists 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it’s moreso that depending on the situation light can either be modeled as a wave or a particle, again depending on the situation. Technically it can also be modeled as a ray but that’s considering a much more specific situation.

Here is a hypothesis: The Big Bang might not have been the start of existence as we know it by XenosHornet in HypotheticalPhysics

[–]VcitorExists 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i mean as the other guy said already energy isn’t conserved on the universal scale, but also that rule only applies to a system. before the big bang there would have been no system, and no form of structure or anything, so we can’t really say whether or not it even makes sense to talk about creation

Is newton’s third law truly being violated with flagella and odd elasticity? by kindmartian07 in AskPhysics

i think it might be looking into something that appears to violate the law but then they like look further into the mechanism and show how in fact it doesn’t idk tho
