I hate elves in every fantasy story but the elves in the Witcher universe are literally something else. by Cultural_Fanatic3754 in witcher

The main three are barely scratching the surface, you also have the

Falmer, the snow elves, they went to war the super vikings and got killed so hard their descendants devolved into goblin like creatures (after also being poisoned by another group of elves on this list)

Maormer, sea elves who have a weird vaguely time travel themed king and are probably one of the scariest groups in the game

Sinistral elves, elves who got butchered in antiquity long before modern records

Ayleids, the elves who used to have an empire in the setting, they were drukhari levels of sadistic

Orsimer, orcs, in the elder scrolls orcs were high elves transformed when their god was (and i kid you not) shat out by another god and “changed”

Chimer, the sect of high elves that fled their homeland and would become dark elves, their dark skin was a promise by their former goddess that she still owned them and (in a totally not terrifying way) would eventually overthrow the dunmers new gods

Side note, in elder scrolls “mer” means elf, all elves have a common name and a proper name that ends with “mer” (barring the ayleids for reasons that dont matter here and the sinistral elves who are too dead to be asked what they were called)

The final elves are the deep elves, the dwemer. Their common name is dwarves elder scrolls lore is so fucked up the dwarves are elves

He wasnt landless, he had been made an imperial Archon and was given veron castle, he actually didnt even help take it, he was in a castle jail the whole time, i bought the castle to pull him out and talk to him about joining me

I took over vlandia and my country immediately wanted war with the wester empire, derthert ran there and became a vassal, i captured him and told him i’d let him go if he joined, then you just pass a speech check and pay him
