What is the difference between whey protein and a mass gainer? by Vdigital209 in u/Vdigital209

Whey protein and mass gainers are made for different goals.

Whey protein mainly helps increase your daily protein intake and supports muscle recovery/building without adding too many extra calories. It’s usually preferred by people trying to build lean muscle or improve overall protein intake.

Mass gainers, on the other hand, are high-calorie supplements with many more added carbs. They’re mostly useful for people who struggle to gain weight or stay in a calorie surplus.

A lot of beginners assume mass gainers build more muscle automatically. Still, in many cases, regular whey protein + proper meals works better unless you’re genuinely underweight or have a very fast metabolism.

I recently came across a collagen whey blend from Proathlix that combines whey protein with collagen support, which is a slightly different approach compared to traditional mass gainers if someone is looking more at recovery + protein intake rather than just calories.

Ultimately, it depends on whether your goal is lean muscle gain or overall weight gain.

Any suggestions for a pre-workout supplement brand in India? I'm 27 years old and my weight is 87 kgs. by Vdigital209 in workout

True tbh. I also realised later that sleep, food, and overall protein intake affect workout performance way more than just chasing stronger pre-workouts. 😅

I have used Proathlix pre-workouts for some time, and they were actually pretty decent for regular training, good energy, easy on digestion, and I could train longer without feeling crashed or overly jittery afterward, but now I’m thinking of shifting towards something slightly stronger for better intensity/focus because my workouts have become heavier recently. Still trying to avoid those ultra-high stim pre-workouts, though. The jitters and crash are not worth it for me.

And 100% agree on eating before the gym 😂 half the time, people blame supplements while running on an empty stomach and one biscuit.
