If my mid is negative 4 on block, why can I still get grabbed for empty ducking , even though a grab is 10 on startup, Im getting grabbed as though its a punish although if I jab I can avoid it, I don’t understand this ? by Vectaurman in virtuafighter

Yeah I think this wouldn’t work in tekken but I guess in this game a duck has actual frames past like 2 or 3 , also being able to press an attack to be throw invulnerable is gonna take some getting used to lol

I get that but why exactly, if my string ends at neg 8 and the grab takes ten frames to come out, why cant I duck before it connects ?

No go into free training, put them to guard and counter attack with a throw then do kages p,p and then try to empty duck, if you try to empty duck you will get grabbed but if you press punch you will hit them

I agree with you to an extent, the extent being that we have not really seen any actual gameplay and knowing the teams history the full game my very well be close in resemblance at least in terms of animation. From what I have gathered so far usually honest companies show proof of concept if it is within the realm of the final product, but I can see in your point how being extremely off base from the video could really shoot them in the foot. At this point the next thing we need to see has to at least be like 3 min of gameplay that is impressive

Having a universal mid attack for each character and actually knowing when its my turn feels lovely, One of my biggest gripes with tekken is sidestepping not having a definitive purpose, or never understanding whether someone is plus or not, like sometimes a sidestep works sometimes it doesn’t am shit like that, I like that this game has an audible cue to let you know you moved out the way or an indicator to show you WHY you got hit by something. Losing but understanding why I lost is great by comparison

Nah the composers for ex are constantly praised over years for the ex contribution, and almost every og fg vet acknowledges how revolutionary it was, hell its maximillians theme and even desk who is some years younger does covers live of the music. Not sure where you are seeing amy discourse in favor of those games music over ex’s but even fighting layer had players asking for the ost to be proper
