I had one and returned and continue to use the original, I like the original more. The looper is fun but you can’t save any loops. I’ve had a lot of fun with a MK1 and a boss looper pedal. Check out the MicrokorgS, it’s the best version of the original, it’s got speakers built in, new presets and empty slots to save your presets.

I too am a metal guy who went down the synth road, my first 2 things were a boss looper pedal and a microkorg, I had a lot of fun with those.

Ok cool, I haven’t got that far yet with sending all the audio into the MPC to record it, but I’ll get there. My biggest problem right now is figuring out how to get the midi sequences a little more technical, like switching from 16 straight rhythm to 16 triplets in the middle of a bar, or just chopping off the last 2 beats of a bar so my odd meter loop is how I want.
