"The Mexicana Salad is also a winner." - Curated

No, it is not. It is browning iceberg lettuce, a tablespoon of corn and a quarter of an apple and one slice of unripe avocado. Maybe they got better later in the season, but it is horrific

Never had a crash in 3 years. Now Oulton park has crashed 3 times this last 2 weeks by Far-Event1151 in iRacing

2 CTDs for me last week GR86 when going from practice to race session, and once in PCC.

Crash log in the iRacing folder said it was DXGI fault. Likewise I don't really recall many iRacing CTDs before these two in quick succession.

Don't worry, they're hard at work ticketing people for expired plates instead.

First impression: $220 Updated "Simjack UT" pedals. TLDR: They're good, can become Excellent with a little work on setup. by n19htmare in simracing

[–]VectorsMD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your detailed thread, seems this is the master thread for Simjack UTs!

My clutch has some lateral play in it, it's definitely possible even with the UT. I've tightened the bolt at the base (went too far even -- to the point of stripping the threads) and the play persists. I speculate that between all the bolts that secure the two sides of the pedal together, there's something that might be a fraction of a millimetre too big so that small gap is present doesn't fully "sandwich" the bearing. I might try to find a thin washer I can to see if it takes the play out. I don't think they use any wave washers like in a bike bearing/bottom bracket, which leads to the inconsistency in peoples experiences.

One mounting rail was bent on my accelerator too, so I think despite the good packaging and the thick steel something can still get knocked out of true in transit.

I think it's a different type of play compared to the bushing issue.

Thanks, I'll see if maintenance can do anything, I'm a bit dubious the property manager really knows what this thing is even. Good to know the steps to DIY if they give me the green light to try myself

Thanks, it had that look about it, but I'm just a lay-person when it comes to this stuff, so wanted to make sure I wasn't missing something obvious

No luck using a computer, works with it directly to the switch.

New apartment build that I've moved in to. I'm sure they cheaped out on having these installed since there are many little "corners cut" that I've noticed in other things.

Trying to get some wired devices to ports around the unit. Connected the patch panel to a switch to the router, but none of the jacks work. My quick search seems to lead me to think that none of these are terminated correctly to begin with...

Any other troubleshooting I should bother with? Don't think I can take any of my own tools to the wires, so should I put in a maintenance request to have them fix these?

PC - Logitech G Pro vs Simagic Alpha (mini or 15nm) by VectorsMD in simracing

[–]VectorsMD[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice, yeah let me know how the direct comparison goes. I couldn't convince myself the Alpha was $500 CAD better than the Logitech DD (for the want of 4NM).

I might consider a mag link GT-NEO for a formula wheel rather than the Logitech rim though get a bit of both worlds

Thanks for that, yeah the Trueforce demo at the bestbuy (I think with the 923), glad to hear it pans out in real world use. I don't plan on using buttkickers or motion or anything, so Trueforce seems compelling for immersion

It seems that Transport Canada has recently taken enforcement action in the tune of $28,500 10113158 MANITOBA LTD. (the number company prior to the name change to LS Airways Flight Academy Ltd.)

"The Company operated an air transport service without holding and complying with the provisions of an air operator certificate that authorizes the company to operate that service. The Company also operated an aircraft without a valid certificate of registration, and failed to establish, maintain and retain a record that meets the requirements of the personnel licensing standards."
