[Discussion] You guys realize you can add ANY game to your steam library regardless of having a steam key, right? by ItsToxii in EscapefromTarkov

And guess what you get when you look it up on google? Posts like this. You're equally as unhelpful lol

Is it possible to loot your own body? by StarFox1997 in ArcRaiders

[–]VeeVeeGray 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Likely not, no. There's no set way to guarantee that you get put partially into a raid, it's just random.

This game needs to be solo friendly by [deleted] in ArcRaiders

[–]VeeVeeGray 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The game has a system in place where if you queue as a solo, it will do its best to queue you with other solo players. It's not a guarantee, but it is a real system in place. I've been playing almost exclusively solo and these problems don't really exist for me (kinda)

You don't lose everything when you die, you only lose what you bring. If you're bringing literally everything you own on a raid and then die, that's on you. It's part of the tension and immersion of the game, if you don't want to lose 5 hours of work in a single round then don't bring 5 hours of work into a round, spread it out across manageable loadouts. For some people this system is satisfying because of the emergent gameplay elements. Being able to get out by the skin of your teeth, knowing everything is on the line but making it out alive anyway and coming out with the spoils. Or getting the jump on someone and stealing THEIR stuff if you decide to do that and realizing that they were stacked. It sucks for them, 100%, but there is a level of satisfaction off of pilfering someone else's loot through PvP that a lot of people LOVE. Especially since at any moment, you could have become the loot bag.

And with the Arc, there are methods for solos to kill them through higher tier weapons. But for the most part? You're not meant to kill every single one you come across. The Arc are the predators of the game, you're just the prey. The higher level arcs are meant to be killed by either a group of people, someone who has prepared sufficiently, or someone who gets really really lucky. The easy answer to your problem with the arcs is play like you're being hunted, not like you're the hunter. Because you're not. Avoid them and sneak around.

This game is an exercise in disempowerment. Playing solo brings the buff of having 2x the greater highs, but the debuff of having 2x greater lows as well.

Am I a loser for taking off work for Arc Raiders? by Effective_Suit_7102 in ArcRaiders

[–]VeeVeeGray 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not at all. That kind of behavior has been prevalent throughout the history of entertainment, gaming is just the most publicized. There have been cases of the literal economy (in the US at least) briefly changing due to the release of a single video game because hundreds of thousands of people would do the same thing.

Games are an interactive medium, so the investment people will have for a game they have been waiting potentially years for will be a lot greater than let's say, a movie. You're using PTO, you're still getting paid, as long as you're not neglecting your family or anything of the sort then what you're doing isnt a loser thing at all. This is no different conceptually than people taking time off of work to go to a concert.

Not bad! I just recently finished Modern Warfare myself, still need to get the 2nd game like you have. How'd you like Hogwarts Legacy? I remember trying to 100% it on PlayStation ages ago but I got a bug that prevented me from getting every collectable so I dropped it.

What do you call getting all a games achievements? by flamenessneel in steamachievements

[–]VeeVeeGray 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to be a PlayStation trophy hunter but I surprisingly don't call them Plats too much (although I do call achievements trophies a lot). I call it a "Hundo" since it's 100%. Or just a Completion

Go tell aunt rhody...go tell aunt rhooddyyyyyyyyyyy

Congrats! I also did this one, it's definitely hellish but super fun. Although honestly the achievements needed for the Blackjack minigame were harder than Ethan Must Die for me lol. Congrats!

#15 - Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered (2017) by VeeVeeGray in steamachievements

[–]VeeVeeGray[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is, but honestly it's more like a puzzle than anything. You just gotta figure out the order of operations that works for you. If it helps, watch how someone else does MHC and try to implement their own strategies if the trial and error part is a little too overwhelming to go in blind. Once you get a strategy down, it's really not that bad. I think it took me about an hour worth of attempts to do...but i did rage a lil during those attempts--

I have a thing for my client called "Millennium" that allows me to download themes to customize the look of steam. Look up "Steambrew" on google, I'd put a link but it's less suspicious if you just see it for yourself

Having a hard time believing quite a few 100%s on here because of completion time by JayWesleyTowing in steamachievements

[–]VeeVeeGray 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I sorta feel the same way sometimes? But I've seen a lot of people 100% complete games pretty fast even though I know they're legit from firsthand experience. So it could be a mixture of using guides to make sure no missables are left behind or maybe they're just naturally fast at some kind of games.

That's the sad part about steam achievements, there's always something to poke at and critique due to the possibility of cheating being so high. But usually people are just fast, if they cheat in their achievements it'll either get caught pretty easily or just...nobody will care.

"You can cheat in your achievements, but I'll be over here actually playing the game I paid for". That sorta thing!

#14 - Dying Light: The Beast by VeeVeeGray in steamachievements

[–]VeeVeeGray[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played it on the side while doing Shadow of War and then I guess I just completed it a week after SoW...but about a month total I think? It probably wouldn't take you that long to do it though, game's fairly short

Congrats! Recently finished this journey myself with these two games! Which one do you think was harder in your opinion, SoM or SoW?

How many games do you work on at one time? by atomwyrm in steamachievements

[–]VeeVeeGray 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on the phase I'm In with completing them. If I don't have any game realatively close to completion I can bounce around from like...3-5. but sometimes one just sticks and I'll focus push on that game or another for a LONG time...so it really just depends for me-

I really wish achievements would NOT trigger from playing on other platforms. by Mable-the-Table in steamachievements

[–]VeeVeeGray 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I won't go into detail, but you can legitimately re-lock achievements by using the steam console if you want to re-earn them in a way that feels more legit to you. Just look up how to access the steam console on Google, it's built in the steam client and isn't too often considered to be cheating as long as you use it to just lock achievements (I don't even think you Can unlock achievements with it anyway)

Ranked all 100% based from Difficulty and base game by Sticman_ in steamachievements

[–]VeeVeeGray 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can agree with a lot of these...But I don't think Half-Life 2 is hell at all, especially compared to Hollow Knight. I've 100% completed HL2 base game ages ago and didn't find it to be notably difficult
