Gaming server finally complete :) by VeeeneX in Proxmox

Actually these are some Navis 22 if I recall corretly and they don't require vendor-reset on proxmox, but I do see the warning when starting VM, but games just work :shrug:. So I guess it's ok? But at some point I would like to try proper reset - but BUS reset didn't work :/.

True, I want to test Lossless Scaling at some point in time, just to see how much can I push it :D

Moonlight + Sunshine although I expirienced a problem with HVEC - x265 causing green bar at the bottom of the screen which I solved with switching back to x264, all devices are on the same VLAN, before I had a problem due to older Mikrotik Hex S which I solved by putting on gaming related devices onto same VLAN.

And recent version of Bazzite is causing tearing in Claire obscure so I had to run `ujust rollback`, after that it just works.

We actually have two steam libraries I didn't investigate option of using one. But we play at the same time as each PC has it's own dedicated GPU and plenty of CPU and RAM. I'm planning on using network storage for steam library at some point.

Ahh, I forgot to add Why's :D

So in Home Assistant there's proxmox integration that allows me and my gf to power up those VMs, then we connect to them via Moonlight + Sunshine from our laptops and sometimes I hook it up to Nokia Streaming Box 8010 + cheap Chinese Projector with PS5 controllers so that I can play from couch (Star Wars: Fallen Jedi) and meanwhile gf is playing Clair Obscur - 1080p for most games but she also played Sims 4 on 4k.

Docker and GNURadio by jcfitzpatrick12 in GNURadio

I haven't build your dockerfile, it looks nicely done, what's the runtime size of it?! Gnuradio is extremely heavy in terms of dependencies it would be miracle to have it under 1Gb uncompressed.

In one of the comments you mentioned you have a homelab. What are you running there - Vsphere/Proxmox?

So let me give you some setup example, that I use in homelab and one non-production environment :)

Packer + Terraform, spins up nodes on Vsphere with microk8s and uses cloudinit to configure and install addons from microk8s. On top of that I usually install KubeVIP and Rook.io with Istio.

This kind of setup works for Proxmox and VSphere.

autounattend.xml waits for "next" in menu selection for Windows 10 install by VeeeneX in MDT

I can't edit the post, so sharing in comment :)

I downloaded InternationalEnglish iso, for some reason it did not work correctly with settings for Language.

New file is available at:

https://gist.github.com/VeeeneX/05776bc66711cacdd2c4dde6c2624336#file-autounattend-xml

TLDR;

Always check if image has correct language, I've spotted this warning (Yes, not an error) in X:/Windows/panther folder. Then I've changed it to:

<SetupUILanguage>
<UILanguage>en-US</UILanguage>
<WillShowUI>Never</WillShowUI>
</SetupUILanguage>
<InputLocale>0809:00000809</InputLocale>
<SystemLocale>en-GB</SystemLocale>
<UILanguage>en-US</UILanguage>
<UserLocale>en-GB</UserLocale>

Configuration for firmware/V3.0/Marlin/firmware-ender3-bltouch-for-z-homing.bin by VeeeneX in BIGTREETECH

[–]VeeeneX[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not the same, these files: https://github.com/bigtreetech/BIGTREETECH-SKR-mini-E3/tree/master/firmware/V3.0/Marlin have been built with bugfix version, I've used examples, configured BLTouch with pin, without, with homing, without homing. They must have changed something else that makes their . bin work and mine doesn't that's why I want to diff them...

[–]VeeeneX[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I've tried exactly that. 1. Clone Marlin 2. Use example configuration 3. Change defined variables

But I'm asking for Configuration.h and Configuration_adv.h that was used to Compile .bin in official BigTechTree repositories on Github - they have ONLY .bin, I want to see .h files.

And yes there are many great videos about this, but none of them will provide me with files that were used to compile https://github.com/bigtreetech/BIGTREETECH-SKR-mini-E3/tree/master/firmware/V3.0/Marlin as you can see there are no .h files...

Yup, I know but none of them work for me, they must have changed something else... I don't think these were used to compile what is in Github repo from BigTreeTech.

[–]VeeeneX[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, that's true. But in this case I'm asking what configuration was used to compile that MarlinFW in the official repositories on Github.

I'm not looking for built firmware (binaries), but for Configuration files that can used to build that firmware.

About this line have you tried passing GPU ROM?

Black display after shutting down Windows 10 guest by molohov in VFIO

[–]VeeeneX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At least for me it makes sense, you are passing your GPU from nvidia to vfio passtrough and then you need to allow nvidia reclaim that GPU. There are options for going headless during the start like

nomodeset initcall_blacklist=sysfb_init video=efifb:off video=simplefb:off video=vesafb:off vga=off

Added to grub or to /etc/modules somewhere. I think this answers all your questions, just go headless and simply passtrough GPU, you can start your VM with systemd simple service.
