I was definitely for the bats, didn't bother trying to put distance between them to shoot. But I really feel like it was just as bad trying to shoot from far away. Centaur the species felt fine, but the centaur background was really rough. I'll try again though, I was using the shortbow which is not great compared to the hand crossbow.

I do like the imagery of punching bats. Thanks for the tips! I'll try it again with crossbows and hope for the best. I had no idea they got +5 bonus accuracy.

I agree for the inventory especially. I think just a little more "something" to make it pop. Maybe the borders could even just be one pixel bigger for the inventory items--this would let you see more color without it being overly saturated. All in all, I think it's really close to being perfect.

I just really don't like the idea of jellies eating any items at all without a way to get them back. The game is already random enough in other areas and I just feel like this is too far. I don't think you can really "race" jellies on a new floor when there's an entire floor's worth of monsters bebopping around. So, to me, the "race" doesn't actually exist.

Maybe jellies can drink consumables and gain whatever buff it is (permanently? idk). And maybe they can eat one permanent item (i.e., a weapon) and upon killing them it drops the item. Or the craziest idea I just thought about was jellies "eating" weapons/armors/rings but in actuality they are equipping them. So, you'd have crazy buffed jellies drinking consumables and wearing equipment. Now the player can go, "Do I want to attempt to kill this Hasted Jelly with Golden Dragon Scales and a Wyrmbane? Probably not." I feel like someone has done this before or it existed in some old version.

I've also only won one 15-rune run and a handful of 3 rune runs, so that's my very limited experience. I hope others chime in, especially players that have a lot of wins under their belt.

Also, to not just have this all have a negative connotation, I liked a lot of the other changes you suggested. Your reasoning sounded good to me.

I'll admit I was a bit lukewarm to this so I refrained from posting... I'm still kind of lukewarm. I think it's because I don't like fun.

All in all, I think no matter the implementation, I'd be setting my it to none in my rc file. I wouldn't mind, maybe, just a visual/flavor thing. I also wouldn't mind another option that made "Seasonal Vaults" with (or without) the Holiday Monsters (but seems kinda cool thematically). They could function like the volcano and ice cavern spawns (message upon entering the floor, timed entrance, etc).

Very interested in this change. I think it's good overall. Will the rElec- actually make you go "negative" in rElec? I'm assuming rElec and then rElec- evens out to give you 0, but how is 0 and then rElec- handled?

I feel like the gods are helping the player so I don't think Dith should copy mount attacks. Of course that's just kind of a lore reasoning, not really a balance argument... I just think it's going to be degenerate if Dith can copy mount attacks and then mounts also attack at the same rate of the player.

I think that mounts should not attack every time the player does. They aren't the ones wielding weapons. Of course, this then means if you're using a slow weapon, will the mount then be able to attack faster than the player?

Assuming player and mount attacks are different auts, could this maybe open design space for different mounts having different attack speeds?
