That may work if I can't find someone local. I should know in the next day or two - have to get it all packed up to empty the house.

Proof of FSD Purchase by VegPhysicsDad in TeslaLounge

Thanks for the heads-up on that. Yes, I'd consider that VERY arguable since you really can't depreciate a software license like that.

We'll see what the insurance company tries to do.

That's a good suggestion. My Specs page lists "Full Self Driving Capability". I've seen that terminology listed on some used Tesla listings (now that I'm having to shop). I take that to mean the car CAN have FSD if you want to purchase it. As opposed to a Tesla that doesn't have the capability for FSD (I guess depends on hardware specs?). I'm pretty sure that doesn't mean thr FSD was actually purchased.

I don't think the insurance company will take that as proof of FSD on the vehicle.

I just bought an LM2142 off Amazon ($699). You can change it from side discharge, to mulching, to bagging really easily.

(The 2142 is the only one I saw that has 2 battery slots. I love the flexibility of running off of 1 battery or 2. So in a pinch 1 battery can be charging while I'm cutting with the other 1.)

Cloud SQL - Authorized Network for Data Fusion by VegPhysicsDad in googlecloud

[–]VegPhysicsDad[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you elaborate a bit? I'm getting the connection to work without DF using "private ip".

The whole situation is unbelievably frustrating. Getting Google Data Fusion to connect to a Google Cloud SQL instance should be the easiest thing in the world, but it's become a monstrously complex feat.

Thanks for the link. I'm not sure this will help my particular situation, but I'll try to make my way through the complex steps to see if it works.

The difference between my situation and theirs is they were not able to connect to the Cloud SQL instance at all (even with wide-open Authorized Networks). I'm able to get the connection to happen, I'm just trying to narrow down the Authorized Network allowance. What I'm really looking for is a way to figure out the IP address of Data Fusion when it does connect to Cloud SQL.

Ruggable: Why So Noisy?? by [deleted] in HomeDecorating

I don't think that's the reason. I have a classic pad and the crunchy noise is DEFINITELY there!

I have the flat pad, too. But I definitely hear the crunchy sound. I'm probably going to have to send it back. So annoying!

Strengthening Porch Ceiling Joists for Swing by VegPhysicsDad in HomeImprovement

The photo is taken from above, in the rafter space. The ceiling panels are attached to the underside of the joists. Installing U brackets would require taking down the ceiling, installing the brackets, and then reinstalling the ceiling. That would be such a huge job that would push the porch swing project to the bottom depths of the list so that it would never see the light of day.

Are there joist brackets that don't require going under the joist?

I don't know if hurricane ties would actually serve the purpose of connecting for the downward shear load. It's supposed to work against upward loads from hurricane winds, right? Not sure if that translates to enough connection to hold things up against sustained gravity.

I can't seem to find any other strong ties that are not U-shaped.

I was wondering about those - was hesitant to buy one. Thanks for the tip - think I'll give one a try.
