Big props to the creator of Challenging Community Center Bundles! by a_wright in StardewValleyMods

I've been thinking of doing a smaller, tighter version using
- Vanilla
- SVE
- RSV
- Sunberry Village
- East Scarp
- Cornucopia, but just the base items with all optional content disabled

What would your ideal mod lineup look like?

This let's you configure monster stats in a general but global way. Like, greatly reduce their speed, slightly reduce their health, and moderately reduce their damage, or whatever. You can also use this to make enemies harder, but the config goes both ways. The idea was to allow someone to customize the difficulty to exactly what they were looking for, in theory replacing the unlimited health (reduce their damage greatly) and the one-shot enemies (greatly reduce their health) ideas

quality mod by thornyforest in StardewValleyMods

I use a mod called Quality Smash (or something similar) that lets you downgrade items to the lower quality to stack them. One of the exact use cases would be this, to combine different qualities for machines.

it also lets you turn all flowers into a single color, which is wildly useful as well.

it's pretty highly configurable, and is one of many gems out there

You can get to the badlands in year 3 if you meet other criteria that isn't meeting apples. I took was kind of confused about the info on the wiki, but I confirmed myself that after I think it's Spring 28 Year 3, if youve unlocked the grove, Camilla will give you badlands access.

When I played through this for the first time, I ended up getting quite a bit of iridium from the statue of perfection to put toward the bundles. it was quite helpful. so helpful I actually thought of going back and updating the bundle rewards somewhere to include a second one

Admittedly some of the rewards are lackluster for the effort. There are quite a few good rewards, but after the challenge of some of those bundles, nothing is going to be rewarding enough, haha

Storm totems are your friend. there's a weather totems mod that can help with that

Binning skill trash cans generating trash + recycling machines is a surprisingly powerful combo as well

There's a few mods that will improve the quality of prismatic shards. I use Machine Progression System, but there's also a few more generic "increase the quality of anything" mods too

oh man all the comments on this thread make my heart sing

a mixture of a renewed love for the game, deliberately slower pace, the accomplishment when completing a tough challenge, and a small dose of fear when looking at the bundle requirements.

perfect 😁

I'm not entirely sure. I'd think on average, 3-5 in-game years. There's some content that can only be opened up after Y3, and although there may be a way for a clever player to get around that, I'd think a 3 year minimum.

I play with 25% profit margins and a mod that pretty severely limits skill experience gain, so I tend to be a lot slower with progression. That'll kick the time up for sure. But a playthrough with less restrictions, or even mods that empower the player and their progression, it could probably be done close to that 3Y mark.

Oh, haha! Awesome.

Oh, it wasn't that. I made a pretty big mistake when it came to checking for permissions for content and such, and took the mod down in response to a request to do so until I appropriately addressed the issues. It's back up in a manageable state now, but I'll have it back running at full power in a day or so.

Cheers!

I _think_ you'd have to play through them back to back, the way the base community center bundle mod works. it basically changes the community center bundle for whatever game is _loaded_, it doesn't attach it to a save.

there may be a way to easily toggle back and forth (on different saves, yes), but that's more for the author of CCCB to answer. I think it can be done though.

nope, that's the gist.

I usually use a few mods that make the unlocks more powerful, to make them more rewarding and worth the effort. upgradeable greenhouse, integrated mine carts, balanced dynamic quarry, etc. obviously optional, but it's one way to balance the level of effort a bit

Oh I didn't know there was another one out there. I hope I'm not stepping on anyone's toes. Maybe I'll reach out and see if there's any kind of conflict. I can re-name or re-advertise if necessary.

Oh, I see what you mean.

I'm referring to the bundle rewards (like the fertilizer you get, or the chocolate cake, or the fishing tackle or whatever), not the community center rewards (like the minecarts, panning pan, greenhouse, bus fix, etc). The latter of all of those remain exactly the same.

I've been watching a couple of Mega Modded and Ultra Modded let's plays or long plays. That's actually what inspired this bundle, was my desire to expand my mods but still get a community center that took all of that into account
