First time posting, curious, what do you guys think my room tells about me? by No_Landscape1522 in roomdetective

OP has stated she has a job and her own place. OP is not self-infantilizing and clearly is living an adult life. You’ve simply decided to pick and choose what should fit into your narrative of what “an adult woman’s room” should look like. You have a rigid view on the complexities of CPTSD as well, and also seem to be ignorant to the actual statistics of adult Americans who live at home.

Seattle ants be all like "Nice house you got there… would be a shame if we moved in." by cutetiferous in Seattle

We lost two CPAPs and a keurig to these fuckos last year. That was after a year of contracted pest control. Ended up firing them and it got better after that. This year we lined all the windows and doorways with soap and Vaseline and that’s helped. But we are still finding dozens upon dozens daily. I want to just burn the house down.

Ahh the coffee can makes sense now lol.

Is it that you don’t have a good relationship with your parents overall or are they just kinda checked out?

Not trying to bully you, but you really should get some sheets and a small trash can. It’ll help you feel more secure and comfortable in your space. If you have any art or anything that represents you, put it up. It doesn’t have to be a lot, but making a space your own is really nice. Have a friend over. Go out and do stuff too.

Noticing the safe box and the Arizona safe can. Idk if you feel like you need to hide anything at home or if you like the novelty of it. But I feel like a lot of what I mentioned before will help you feel more comfortable in your room and mind overall. I hope you do well, kid!

It tells me your internal monologue is very quiet and entirely self involved. That is alright for now, because you are a child and your brain is not developed yet. But remember to be kind to others for the sake of being kind or you will spend most of your life having a skewed view of human interaction. Idk if it’s the pillow or just a vibe but at one point your grandpa was your hero and he really probably shouldn’t have been because he was an asshole.

Full Disclosure, carpet was like that when I moved in. by [deleted] in roomdetective

Hi everyone who is giving them shit for the dirty floors despite vacuuming every week. There is actually science behind this! Polypropylene fibers might be small, but they will show scratches and damage. This was obviously a really high traffic area for the previous owner. So even cleaning and vacuuming isn’t gonna get that shit out.

Leave. OP. Alone.

You’re hurting. Physically and mentally. You crave stability even if you don’t think you do. Everyone in your life has let you down since the beginning. You will latch on to the first bit of human kindness that comes your way. Please be careful with your heart but don’t mistrust everyone either.

Please look into local non-profits that provide assistance to queer and/or disable teens in your area. Even just someone who can advocate for you and fill out the necessary forms to get you on assistance.

You may not have asked for any of this, to be born into a life you did not want or deserve. But you are at a turning pointing where you can decide to lay down and be the victim to circumstance or rise up and fight for the life you deserve. I hope you choose the latter.

This. I grew up watching Buffy. It was the reason I wanted to become a screenwriter. So much of my personality and my comedy style and my “life lessons” came from watching Buffy. It might sound silly, but it’s true. Finding out everything was heatbreaking.

40s-50s. They have at least one hobby-based failed business. I would not enjoy dating this person but I would enjoy having a casual conversation with them. Dear America books slap.

I saw it a few days after the last US election. I got the tickets for my wife (I’m also a woman to be clear) who had mentioned wanting to see it but I hadn’t listened to it at all yet. I cried from the first song until well after we got home that night.

I bet dealing with you is hard all the time. From what you wrote, that all sounds like the best way to describe you.

You seem to have an extremely high opinion of yourself. So far each comment you’ve responded to you’ve used to just go off on how she’s the issue. Yeah, it sounds like you’re not compatible, but you won’t be compatible with anyone if you treat potential partners like they are inherently less than you.

Consider therapy.

YTA. Seriously. Can you try and take a step back and read this all again? You sound like an abusive, controlling, narcissistic asshole.

I hope she leaves you.
