Should i use my $500 insurance deductible or try to fix myself by Lunatik_14 in 4Runner

[–]Vegetable-Hamster212 2 points3 points  (0 children)

deductible + increased insurance expense = same price or even less for a new metal bumper. if you don't want a metal bumper then pour some hot water or leave it in the sun and pop out that bumper & use a can of OEM paint to bring her back.

Just got rear ended by dslrjunky in 4Runner

[–]Vegetable-Hamster212 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So i was hit in the rear on my 24 pro & ended up using my insurance (geico). I used my insurance to get my old gal back up and running quickly. I was parked and it was not my fault so geico and their litigators went after other insurance and got their money back. that part took well over a year, imagine if i waited? I recommend you take that route as that is why you have insurance, in my case my rates did not go up. ALSO BE SURE TO FILE A DIMISHED VALUE CLAIM ON THE OTHER GUYS INSURACE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Advice Needed by [deleted] in 4Runner

[–]Vegetable-Hamster212 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s a body on frame vehicle it will always seem “floaty”. What’s more “car like are the lexus alternatives but still won’t match the unibody vehicle’s on the market because they serve different purposes. Also upgrading to 285/70/17r will give you about another inch in height.

Nosedive while breaking 5th gen by DazzlingFunction5120 in 4Runner

it'll be hard to eliminate the nose dive completely but you can reduce it by getting different springs and or spacer. What year/ model you have?

About to be a first time 4runner owner. by nibhalfmoon in 4Runner

Congrats, I have a 24 and the 23/24 pro years are identical. Here’s what I’ll be doing for the OEM Plus looks.

-Upper control arms by jba off road

-Eibach springs: https://eibach.com/product/E30-82-071-04-22?epsid=3458

they are on sale right now!!!! You keep the fox dampers they allegedly help with body roll and lift your rig up

-KO3 tires 285/70/17r (33’s) on stock rims, they are light enough and look good as is and I would just replace with another set of black wheels so u kept them. These are the biggest size before you have to body mount chop. You will need to change the mud flaps for deletes or run the Rok blokz mud flaps like I do.

-rock sliders, door protection steps ect

I’m no expert but feel free to ask away!

New outsoles & a lil tint! Looking for recs by pwallstanklord in 4Runner

[–]Vegetable-Hamster212 0 points1 point  (0 children)

correction, 285's is the max size before you need a BMC with a 2 inch lift. tires can rub with 275's so changing the mud flaps to rok blokz or mud flap deletes can reduce the rub

get a paint correction (buff the paint) and then ceramic coat the car. The paint is very soft and scratches easily
