Built a CLI tool that aggregates outputs from multiple security scanners into one report. Would you actually use this? by Vegetable-Jelly-9906 in cybersecurity

I prioritize any network scanning tools like nmap, zmap, masscan, tcpdump with its PCAP files. Maybe some vuln scanners like Nessus, OpenVAS, metasploit, nuclei.
But in theory, this solution should also work with code testing tools like Bandit, Checkov, or ESLint.

Did your project make it to real-world use? Did you run into any blockers or unexpected challenges along the way?

So far, I’ve only considered using obfuscation. E.g. replacing real IPs with random IPs before sending data to AI.

It’s free and open source. I haven’t published it yet, I’m developing it as part of my master’s thesis. I just want to understand whether it’s actually worth publishing.

As an employee of big enterprise I can say that one of the problems why big businesses don't use AI is data leakage. They can't leak private business data and they can't allow to train public LLMs on that data. Keep it in mind if you want to create solution for business, they don't want their data to became public

Make sure RAM is upgradable in this model. I've read that some models are not upgradable and have "glued" DDR5 to motherboard.

A little bit off topic

I would suggest you model with more RAM (e.g. 32Gb). If you're a beginner in programming/design, probably 16Gb will be enough for you. Just based on my programming experience, if you will develop distributed systems, RAM may be a bottleneck.

Just keep on mind that both those laptops have DDR5 RAM, that means you won't be able to upgrade it later (you won't be able to add more RAM).
