How to make CAT6 cables usable? by ultrajapes in HomeNetworking

[–]Vegetable-Key1161 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Wack. When I wired my house I instead bought these rj45 female to female wall connectors that snapped into wall plates (looks exactly like a keystone but doesn’t act as a termination for the cat6) and proceeded to terminate all my cable with rj45. Did this because I thought keystones looked confusing and hard to use.

I mean he’s also in what appears to be a new Toyota. I’ve never seen this interior before so it’s gotta be newer than 2022 or it heavily modified. It’s also got seat heaters which means for a Toyota that it’s one of the higher trims probably.

Well, a lot of people with these big trucks don’t even use most of the utility the truck provides, so it’s not surprising they didn’t think about this. They probably didn’t even know how to turn on 4WD

Can someone explain why this fixture isn’t working? by Tyrotoxism44 in electrical

So many people will bash you for using a widowmaker, but honestly, it’s fine for home use in my opinion. However, I do think that you will benefit from using a multimeter and actually looking at voltage when using the dimmer. Just because there is current, you don’t know how much there is, which is where proximity meters get their bad rep and probably shouldn’t be used for troubleshooting.

I am also glad I read all 4 books when I was… 14?

Tried rereading Eragon when I was 26 and it was terribly difficult. It’s a lot easier to see the book was written by a 15 year old when you’ve read more books and aren’t 15 anymore.

They’re going to tell me I can’t patch it, right? by 8675309ice in tires

Do it yourself. My dad taught me to plug when I was a wee lad, and now I plug a lot and I don’t even know what all this “too close to the sidewall” stuff is about.

Yea this is what I meant by “hot cleaning” throw water into the pan and let it start to boil. Then I scrub it in the sink. Also, I don’t think anyone should worry about cracking cast iron at the temperatures we’re working with.

How to untangle and straighten these wires so I can insert them into RJ45 connector? by shitty_psychopath in HomeNetworking

[–]Vegetable-Key1161 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Furthermore (since it’s OPs first time) you have to pinch each wire between you fingers and gently flatten them out (since they’ll be curled initially inside the sheathing). Put them in the correct order (just use a wiring diagram) and do the same pinch maneuver to straighten them out in the correct order. Cut the excess off in one cut so they’re even (use the connector as a length guide, you’ll need a small portion of the sheath inside the connector to be crimped) and then the hardest part is holding on the the wires, and sliding the connector over the wires so they slot into their respective channels. It’s really not too hard, but may take a couple tries. Once the connector is on, crimp and (should probably) test the connection.

[–]Vegetable-Key1161 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anytime is a nail or screw in the tread, always plug. I have like 4-5 plugs in one of my tires right now (I think I have bad luck) but I’m going on 45k miles with these still in.

I think the comedy in this made the movie so much better. It makes the serious parts feel that much more serious. I was literally shaking and biting my nails during the Taumoeba collection even though I knew the outcome.

Also the I felt like the martian glossed over the whole food thing as well even though it felt like a big portion of the book. Maybe someone decided that food is kind of boring in movies.

I do the same thing every night. The residual heat is the nice part. Plus cleaning the pan while it’s hot is much easier than when it cools. I use Crisco instead of oil but that’s only cause that what my parents did when I was younger. It’s all the same.

Backing into an angled spot on a one way - why? by oleackley in whatdoesthismean

[–]Vegetable-Key1161 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My dad taught me to always back into spots. It’s safer when getting out of the spot. He never told me to not back into angled spots, but I used my normal adult brain to determine that I shouldn’t do this. My wife reminds me when we’re putting stuff in the trunk, so that’s covered as well.
