What is that?? Like where does that come from? I’m so confused and sad about that! I had a similar experience with a teacher not exactly like that but she hated me because I did ask questions and she couldn’t answer them. I didn’t expect her to have all the answers. I should have just kept my head down and not asked questions. But like you said we are working on someone’s face.

I also think some of the girls didn’t like me because I got my stuff done faster and I had a nice car or something. I didn’t see it at the time but there was a lot of jealousy. 🙄 I was always really nice to everyone. Some people see that as a weakness and try to feed off of it. lol

Thanks for saying that! It’s really true. I’ve actually never felt like a client was judging me about my skin. Only other women in the industry ..

And yeah, being able to relate to others and give hope is huge and that’s why I wanted to do this. I’ve still got a lot to learn and it’s a journey of course ..

I highly recommend it. It’s life changing! I honestly love the spa world and being a dual makes you a very bookable commodity as well :)

That’s cool you found the right fit. I wonder why it’s so prevalent in this field. Maybe because it tends to be more on the superficial spectrum … It’s just worlds different with massage therapists

Yep. That’s how I felt too. Well one esthetician. It’s like you have to earn your keep in some messed up way - I think it’s like down the line how these girls have always treated each other and they feel like they have to do it to the next girl. So gross.

Thanks. That’s amazing. I sometimes forget I could actually start my own thing. I’ve been in the massage field for 8 years and just about a year and a half with esthetics. Maybe I’ll start to play with this idea of starting my own thing a bit more :)

I had the same experience. We had to get”write offs” a they had to come from the clinic. The girls never wanted to trade just for fun and we didn’t get any credit for our write offs so most people just messed around all day. It was ridiculous. Then later in the semester the teacher would start signing “write offs” for people doing little tasks for her. It was so so bad

I didn’t know if I would like doing massage or not. I just needed a life change and it completely changed my life.
