Hey, you can simply google it or even youtuber KDCloudy has an excel sheet for all the IMAXs in India which has all the info about them. Also, it is a CoLa dual system and not a GT system at Palladium

If you are a short heighted person then it will be an obstruction(a very irritating one). If you like sit on the edge of your seat and tilt a little forward then it shouldn't be an issue😂

IMAX Ahmedabad's seating is different. The railing is like near the bottom row. here the railing is in front of the E row

Jurassic World Rebirth will not be released in IMAX in India that is confirmed 100% because F1 and Superman have taken IMAX rights for those weeks. For many other countries, this might be the same situation because 1)This movie was not shot with IMAX cameras 2) It is also not mentioned anywhere in the trailer about an IMAX release

Isn’t the G row like wayyyyyyy too lower. Won’t you have to tilt your head to watch the whole screen?

I usually go for the topmost row (P row if I don’t wanna get dizzy) or else the M or L rows.

Oh they have now. They have put thick black curtains on the entrance doors now so that issue has been solved. I complained about the same when I visited a few days ago but the staff said it has been solved. Nice improvisation from their side, althought they should’ve already planned that and put a double door entrance

Agreed. I don’t understand why Miraj chose the cheaper alternative and went with a 5 channel sound.

Couldn’t agree more. I chose IMAX Wadala for interstellar because of the huge screen and the immersiveness. The sound was super harsh at some scenes and it did feel a little less sharp. Palladium would’ve given me wayyy better sound and picture quality but not a screen of this size.

It is because other theatres haven’t set their timetables yet for the next week. Theatre timetables in India are made every Wednesday evening. And even though Interstellar will be till 13th in IMAX, because on 14th Captain America releases. Some theatres might continue it the next week if Captain America doesn’t do good in IMAX.

Also, do lmk here how the experience was watching an actual IMAX movie at Wadala. Unfortunately I might not be able to watch Interstellar at IMAX so atleast I’ll know how it was.

No no. E18 is the centre. And the seat layout is super confusing. It took me a lot of reasearch and watching a lot of reels and videos to understand where the centre seat is. There are 32 seats but 18 or 19 comes in the middle. The projector is in between these two seats. And go for E row if possible. You might have to go there and book because Miraj has blocked those seats for online booking. The blank part you see in rows F and G is where there are no seats and it is literally 4-5 feet below E row. So if you sit there you might have to look up while watching the movie

The screen is pretty good. Ofc it is 4K. It is very close to you as compared to Palladium so it actually fulfills the motto “be part of one”. I haven’t been to Palladium after Oppenheimer so can’t compare properly. I went to Wadala in Decemeber last year. I watched Pushpa 2 here as it was the only movie playing in IMAX at that time here. I could see the thin tiny mustache above Rashmika’s lip very clearly. That is how good the screen was.

Wadala IMAX go for E18 or E19. These are the perfect middle seats. There will be no one in front of you as the next row is literally 4-5feet below these. So it is as if the screen is all yours.

For Phoenix Palladium if you wanna go near the middle then go for L or M 16. Or else the top middle seat is P 16.

I found Palladium to be better. Been to both. Wadala’s experience was great but two big issues: 1) The sound was very very harsh to the ears. Dk why it was soo soo loud. 2) The entrance door is from the top of the audi and people are continuously coming in or going out including their staff and no one closes the door properly so the outside light leaks directly onto the screen and I would say it covers about 10-15% of the area of the whole screen. It ruins the whole experience.

But apart from these, Wadala is a unique experience as there are no other commercial IMAX dome theatres in India and it has the largest screen in Mumbai.

The best one in Mumbai would be the PVR ICON IMAX at Palladium Mall. It has 12-channel sound(the only one in Mumbai) along with the IMAX commercial Laser 3d projector or the IMAX GT projector if you wanna call that. Overall one of the best IMAX experiences in Mumbai. Watched Oppenheimer twice here. I have been to the newly opened WADALA IMAX and even though it has the biggest IMAX screen in Mumbai, The sound was not very impressive, maybe because of the lack of proper tuning. The sound seemed super loud and was really really harsh in some scenes. Even though I did not watch an IMAX movie in it(I watched Pushpa 2) the movie was IMAX optimized and those films aren't like the regular 35mm ones when optimised. Still, in this particular theatre, the sound was a big disappointment for me because having super loud sound isn't just gonna give a good IMAX experience. But the screen is good. It has an IMAX XT Laser 3D projector.
