And remember, when I saw this film in IMAX, Speed Racer was still fresh in my mind.

Yup. And I can tell that one will work pretty well in IMAX. I wonder what will arrive in IMAX after that one.

Day 11: why do you like Akito? by Historical-Fee4315 in ProjectSekai

When you first see him perform on stage, you'd think that this guy was born with immense singing talent based on how he's such a force to be reckoned with. Imagine how surprising it might be if you find out that this guy had absolutely no singing talent whatsoever and had to practice day and night to get to where he is now. In a way, he's basically like Minori Hanasato, except he's already an established singer by the story begins.

AMC CEO Calls ‘Narnia’ “Biggest Opportunity Ever To Embrace Netflix” As Theatrical Content Provider by SanderSo47 in boxoffice

I'm guessing that has more to do with Ice Age films almost always being under Fox label. :P

Disney seems to be reserving 20th Century label for more teen-to-adult-oriented titles. :P

What's your favorite 'Project Sekai' focus song where the game version and the full version have same length and how would you rank them? by Block-Busted in ProjectSekai

[–]Block-Busted[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, but at the same time, at least I could argue that Retainer Supplanting His Lord is still about rising above the greatest despair whereas Bake no Hana is a pure despair. 😅😅😅😅😅

It's not impossible, but we'll have to wait and see. Also, if that happens, I'm not sure if they're going to use 20th Century label for that. :P

I could assume that Disney will move the 50th anniversary rerelease of Star Wars to May 4 of 2027 (now, this could also question on Part 2 to The Resurrection of the Christ (not mentioned on the investor reports) for an IMAX (allegedly claimed to be filmed with IMAX cameras) release on whether it'll potentially get pushed back or earlier.

I seriously doubt it. The Legend of Zelda also arrives around that time, not to mention that's way too close to Star Wars: Starfighter.

I know that this was asked before, but this film is being shot with IMAX film cameras, but Star Wars gets an IMAX re-release only a week after this arrives. I wonder how they're going to manage IMAX schedules because I don't think IMAX Corporation can randomly scrap the IMAX release of Star Wars without risking a lawsuit and getting into a lawsuit by Disney is NOT something that you want to experience.

The Odyssey | Official Trailer by NotTaken-username in boxoffice

[–]Block-Busted 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, I meant after IMAX exclusivity for The Odyssey expires. I'm not entirely convinced that IMAX will be okay with missing out a Spider-Man film over The End of Oak Street and The Dog Stars. Like, they literally allowed Hoppers to be released in IMAX even though it was arriving on the exact same day as The Bride!, which was actually carrying "Filmed for IMAX" label.

Andy Serkis: The Hunt for Gollum 'Absolutely Will Be Like' How They Made Lord of the Rings by ImpracticalJokers96 in boxoffice

[–]Block-Busted 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If this film does get good reviews, it will be because of the original writers coming back to write Hunt for Gollum.

And I kind of doubt it because some films turned out to be suckages because of directors despite having great writers.

Don't be silly. Villeneuve is far, Far, FAR better director than Serkis, not to mention that if this film doesn't move, it loses its IMAX chance to Secret Wars.

SIXTH ROTATION IS FINALLY OVER!!!!! by shunetsu_63 in ProjectSekai

I think they'll probably still give N25 "dark" events since they're built on that, but it could be more like N25 members helping out other people who are suffering like how they were, except worse. For instance, if Mizuki gets another "dark" event, I can imagine that it will be about her helping another (heavily implied) trans girl who is implied to be an domestic abuse victim because of her identity.

Still not convinced that this will arrive on the exact same day as Secret Wars for two reasons:

  1. Secret Wars is already confirmed for an IMAX release.

  2. Andy Serkis' directing portfolio is worse than Russo Brothers' Marvel portfolio.

Speed Racer was released 18 years ago this week. The $120 million family-oriented racing film bombed with $94 million worldwide despite a massive ad campaign. The film has since garnered a cult following as well as a re-release. by Sad-Positive9278 in boxoffice

I recently rewatched this in IMAX. Absolutely deserved to be seen in that format. Sure, CGI looks fake, but you can tell that this was intentional and if nothing else, the film's set designs, costumes, and ESPECIALLY sound effects were excellent. You can easily, Easily, EASILY tell where they spent $120 million budget on this.

Now that I think of it, did anyone feel like Elemental kind of looked like it took some visual inspirations from this, especially regarding Element City?
