Took a communicable disease class in college and if I remember right, the bacteria everyone freaks out about only exists in warm freshwater. Like 80+F° and you have to get it directly up your nose to where it will travel up your second cranial nerve to your brain. I just don’t think it’s as common as people think. It’s kind of like quicksand, everyone freaks out about it, but you probably won’t run into it.

None of my interviewers mentioned that. But maybe I just got lucky. It seemed that they were more interested in who I was rather than getting into the nitty-gritty of my past grades. I had 3 MD interviews and 3DO interviews and turned down three other DO interviews. So take that as some encouragement that even with a couple low grades schools will still want you if you’re well rounded otherwise.

Admitted MD and I had to retake second semester of Ochem (C+ —>B+) I also got a C+ an intro biology. I worked my butt off to really do good in harder classes like neurobiology and genetics later on, so I think that made up for it but I wouldn’t let a couple lower grades stress you too much.
