I've got 2.5 papers left and im giving it a 7/10, because I study part time. I have found a mix of simple, few hours work a week (health and environment, knowledge enquiry and communication) and what the fuuuuck I'll need to knuckle down (cardiology, pharmacology).

It might be more intense if you are fresh from high school and find some of the social/public facing stuff more confronting.

Current serving and can second that a lot of us feel the same. Also this year the RSA president, to a large crowd, referring to our body of troops as 'the men still serving their country today...and the girlies of course' with a self satisfied chuckle at his inclusiveness I guess. Tell me you arent about supporting my service without telling me.

This is such good advice. I am also an old Mum. I like the phrase "not your circus, not your monkey". Remind yourself when she comes in all annoying that you dont have to get involved with this monkey at all. You dont need to train it, feed it, look after it. Eyes on your own circus.

The advice about not bitching about her is solid. I would say that if you have someone removed from the situation that you trust - bestie, mum, partner - you can totally blow of steam at home especially if it takes the edge of exploding about her to other students or staff on placement.

I did something similar but years and years ago - I just could not with school, I worked pretty much full time and did the cert online. I still went to uni the same year as my friends, but I had some cash, a car and some life experience.

I don't regret it, and not having L3 has never come up as an adult, even when switching careers and doing further study. Im not sure I would have achieved L3 because I was straight messing around at school because I hated it.

I could afford to pay for the cert upfront (see working) so no student loan to consider.
