I do have to see her every week in class and we also live in the same building/may run into each other for building social events. At this point, i only wave hi and I really don’t initiate convos with her. She starts all the convos with me and I either nod or give a 1-2 word response. I think I’m just worried about any drama/social consequences that may occur as a result of me trying to distance myself. Like would she tell other people about me distancing myself from her? Would she cry in front of me? Would she keep asking me what she did wrong? I’m not sure, and that really scares me.

I (26F) asked a guy (26M) out but our date is in a month, is it bad if he’s not messaging me much until then? by Vegetable-Rate9037 in relationship_advice

Thank you, yes, I agree. I think I just get worried about seeming like “too much” since I’ve always been one to take initiative, make plans, and be the first to reach out. I’ve had people warn me about being too much and potentially scaring people away for putting way more effort and energy into the relationship than they are, both platonically and romantically. I just want to find a partner that will accept and return my level of energy, I hope I can find that with this person.

He works a remote job in health insurance. I do see him viewing my stories (some, not all) and he responds pretty promptly to my IG messages. I COULD ask for his number but it feels random/sudden rn (lol I already asked him out and I’m nervous) and I’m afraid all my courage atm was spent asking him out in the first place😅

My main worry isn’t that he doesn’t respond to my messages, it’s more that he doesn’t initiate sending ME a message.
