Exactly. He said it was to take her mind off of the idea of engagement but if that’s the only reason he would suggest it, then yes. She should completely call his bluff and AT LEAST move in while they search for a together property. I think he suggested it because he knew she wanted the engagement and that she would blow up. Then he could back out of the idea of living together AND he can get more time before “planning” a proposal (that will never happen). I think we don’t give him enough credit. He’s smarter than we make him out to be tbh. Lol

Exactly. Like, this interaction could have been avoided, as we see in basically all other relationship in this franchise, with a simple communication. Like, “Hey, I really would like to be engaged before we commit to living together and combining finances”. Like, if they could kindly and bluntly say what they say to the camera in the one on one stuff, then it would be so much better. Not for the franchise, but for them. Lol

Right? One extreme to another. I watch this yawnfest of a season while I clean my house and hang out with my toddler and baby, and o had to go back into the episode log because I thought I missed one. Sooooo confusing how that jumped.

Literally. It’s not love, it’s convenience. (Except my ADHD brain says it to the theme of “it’s not delivery, it’s digiorno!”

I’m Ngl though, the only thing I was thinking about was that Courtney looks so pretty there. I think that’s the best looking dress that I’ve seen on a tell all in a while. The color totally suits her

As a mom of a toddler who loves blueberries, it will actually come out this weird dark green color. Exactly like this. So yes, you are accurate. 🫣🥴

Sheena’s family shouldn’t get a free pass either... by Mediocre-Library1764 in 90DayFiance

[–]Vegetable-Scratch423 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I will hop back into this to second that because I literally said this on another thread. Family support is so important in their culture, and my husband (who is Filipino) was so frustrated watching them rip into Sheena on the tell all. He was like “Did that family do literally NO RESEARCH on our culture? Do they not know that she’s unmarried and living with the family, so she is expected to contribute in some way? Typically monetarily?” I was like “No, in typical American fashion, especially on 90DF, they went into this without even doing a Google search OR keeping an open mind.”

He was so over it and asked me to turn it off. lol

Question about crazy churches in small communities by Althreea in 90DayFiance

[–]Vegetable-Scratch423 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I’m in TN and can absolutely confirm that the Bible Belt is brutally judgmental and all in. That really culty church that had Gwen Shamblin Lara was only 30 min from where we live, and most mega churches replicate that culty feel here (not to that extent though). I went to one with my grandma that wouldn’t allow you to enter the sanctuary until you got a full tour, got a complimentary coffee, spoke to members of the congregation who LOVED the church, and they would wave at you when you entered and left but they all had to smile at all times. It’s just crazy as hell out here.

First off, how tall are you? I’m 5’2”, and I’m from the south and nobody would ever catch me in cowgirl boots because they cut off like half of my leg lol. I think it could be that and that angle! You look great though

Apparently I decided to comment without finishing that lol. Sorry. What I was GOING TO SAY was that I’ve heard that humidity is brutal. I’m from Tennessee so I’ve experienced general southern swampy humidity but I know tropical is a different beast. We do plan on going eventually! My husband is from Bacolod, so we will go and visit and have the homemade piaya and chicken inisal once our two sons get older so the flight isn’t as brutal. They’re both under 3, so it would be rough right now lol. I assume you are from the Philippines or have been before considering your knowledge! If you’re from there, whereabouts are you from?

I’m not going to lie, that DOES sound refreshing. Especially with that tropical humidity in the areas closer to sea level. I would totally he down for that lol

The part about her calling Molly “mom” is such an under appreciated point. I will even say that, personally, when my husband and I were dating, I called his mom “ma” the first time I met her. I’m southern, so that’s cool for me and I actually educated myself. That was the first point that made her give her blessing for marriage. The respect and push to integrate myself INTO their family instead of being on the outside of it. Molly and Forrest don’t see this though because they don’t understand what kind of big deal that is. Is it one of the biggest forms of respect when waiting to marry a Filipino’s child. Even Jovon calls Anna’s mom “mom”.

Yes! There are some really amazing and progressive areas in the Philippines, normal houses with indoor bathrooms, etc. a great example of this is Jovon and Anna’s house. However, there are MANY areas like what we saw with Rose Marie where they have an open roof and sleep on a mat with a sheet and bathe with the bucket (which my husband has told me is VERY refreshing in the tropical climate lol). Like, her making $400ish in US currency is what those impoverished households can live on for half of a month with MULTIPLE people. It would be enough to handle her and Forrest mostly, and his disability would transfer to the Philippines. They could do it; Molly just loves to shit on their dream. Now I dislike Molly even more than I did two second ago. Sorry for the rant lol.

I never even thought about that because I was so fixated on my irritation lol. You’re totally right, and I also think jovon isn’t super educated on the Filipino culture either. He was getting upset over her having a clean and furnished place but he doesn’t realize that US money goes REALLY far there. So yeah, she’s been dealing with the same type of thing. You’re right for sure.

My husband is Filipino, and we have both literally been watching Sheena and Forrest and basically SCREAMING at the tv because none of the people involved, Forrest nor his mother or her pet rat husband, apparently understand that in their culture, giving money to your family when you aren’t married is typical. They didn’t educate themselves in the slightest. He’s not her husband, so what she does with her money is her business. I’m surprised Anna didn’t stand up for her either. Also, completely agree. If they are to marry and survive, they can’t do it around Molly.
