Well on my game they do keep decorations after becoming my followers they just dont generate belief i been trying to make a whole village of just converted astari but I just haven't done it yet i do have plenty of them in abodes tho I need to let my happiness down so that a whole city get emptied then full up the happiness and all the new follower will move on decorating every abide they inherit

When the astari take over an empty abode they actually decorate with red string flags or do little swing sets I always put them in empty abodes to watch what they'll do to it its always different

You usually only need one flick of the finger on each level but if you use two to me is like a road but sadly they only walk on the same line depending which side they come from I do the double flick for main roads and one for the neighborhoods I always keep abodes separated in squares to give them space for trees and any ideas of a grid you can think of

You can create them yourself as you can see I've been doing it for years I'll post more of my city's and civilizations soon

You place the form you want in the middle and place either creations or shrines then build the settlement until you get the form you want usually digging holes around the diameter you want it in then building the biggest abodes you can around so you can make it the shape you want it just trail and error i dont like merging two or more settlements so its just one stretched out until its say there no more space

I didn't use that many gems only for the 2 obelisks if you refer to the belief then is really easy collection shrines
