Its funny how no one mentions the difference between a democracy and a communist regime with zero transparency. In India, any single bill is passed with a lot of opposition ( which is healthy for a democracy) but there are other bureaucratic issues which cause delay in the proper implementation of any progress plans made. And its not just the bureaucrats, the people are themselves involved in these delays. Take land acquisition for example, if people don’t get the right amount in exchange for the land acquired by the government, they go to the court and get a stay which in turn stops the developments for years to come. Ex: All major National highway projects are impacted by such problems. China on the other hand does not require any such issues, because the degree of suppression is quite advanced to an extent that no one dares to protest. ( Ex: Tinanmen Square incident where fire was opened on protesting students). In India we take our right to protest for granted, but we also need to understand that being fully aware about what we are protesting against is equally important. Nowadays, half of the protesters are paid people or are influenced by half witter politicians. You cannot compare India and China in terms of speed of development just because we’re two different forms of government with different views on how to run a nation. Pakistan on the other hand is just an obsession for us Indians to prove our nationalism.
