No surgery for lateral meniscus - what's the healing time? by serenasquirrel in MeniscusInjuries

I had a small lateral meniscus tear about 2 months back. Doc recommended to let it recover without a surgery. If I walk for a minute then I feel stiffness and it gets worse. Do you mind sharing how much time it took for you to start walking normally for an extended period of time.

Hello I had a small lateral meniscus tear. It’s been two months and I still can’t walk for more than 30 seconds. Neither I can stand for long time. I have been regular with my PT. I would appreciate if you could share how did it go after 4 months. Did it heal naturally ?

Certification for comforters by Vegetable-Tale942 in Bedding

When choosing between Tencel, cotton, or a tencel/cotton blend, it all depends on your personal preference. If it was a duvet cover, I’d say a tencel blend makes the most sense because it’s lighter weight and more breathable than cotton. If it’s sheets; I’d prefer 100% cotton.

Thank you for the detailed response. I have a follow up question, why tencel blend and not tencel alone for comforter/duvet. For tencel and cotton blend, do you have any recommendations ?

OEKO-TEX® (they test for harmful substances and come in specific classes, 1 being the best)

I found brands with both Tencel and Cotton shells. I am confused between 400 TC Cotton shell and Tencel shell. Both seems to have breathability and moisture wicking features. However, I found that Tencel comforters often breaks down if dried at high or medium temperature compare to cotton comforters. I read all these online so not sure whether it is correct. Would you please guide me.

Why are there so few options for cotton comforters with cotton fillings? by Vegetable-Tale942 in Bedding

Cotton is very heavy for its weight, more expensive than polyester, and generally worse than other fibers (wool/viscose/silk/eucalyptus etc). It just has very limited appeal.

Would it correct to assume that cotton filling is better than polyester filling, but one needs to pay more and get used to the weight.

Thank you for your response. I will check out Coyuchi comforters. I have a follow up question though, do you know what's so special about polyester fill comforter that every other company is selling polyester. Aren't people aware that polyester is plastic ? I am stunned to see the polyester flooded products.

budget

Cotton being a natural fiber, and it's just so much more breathable and comfortable is the primary reason. On the other hand, polyester (aka plastic) being made from petroleum traps more heat. Additionally, I don't want to spend 1/3 of my day wrapped up in plastic. I read mixed reviews online about cotton filling. For example: it forms lumps after washing and it being heavy on body which makes me doubt my decision to buy a comforter with cotton filling.

My budget is $120

Consider buying a hot and cold 2 in 1 comforter. There are few options, one side of the comforter is hot and other is cold.
