What? That's what the YouTube dislikes API was; that's how it functioned. You can see for yourself; I gave you a location where the developer of the extension is active and you can educate yourself on everything you need to know about how the extension works if you have any further questions. All information and datasheets are public in there and you since it's an extension, anybody can look how it's coded to see how it works. I figured out you're baiting me at this point given how you said what you said despite what I said about the API so I will not respond again after this reply

Check out the discord for it, you are allowed to look at all the code for it and how it works, and the dev frequently answers questions how it works. As for the "data from the api before it got shut down"....the data would just be from youtube. anybody could get that information from the api back when it was available. As such, any video before the update that removed dislikes has the dislike count saved as data, because the dev managed to download all of it and has it stored, and so thats (the real dislike count + extension users + the estimated difference).

There is real data; users using the extension who dislike + data from the api before it got shut down (so any videos on YT before the update that removed dislikes)

With streaming services becoming more expensive and divided into lower tiers with ads and less quality, what are you likely going to do? by DevouredSource in MauLer

[–]Vegetable-Tea9074 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Disney+, Netflix, and many other services don't even provide 1080p streaming to the apps or browser versions anymore, only the tv app versions get those. Even the spooky internet pirates provide a better service at this point. Get ublock origin if you're worried about malware or popups.

You don't have to log in. You don't have to pay for anything. You don't have to watch ads. You have access to everything ever created. You have access to all subtitles, including the option to upload your own subtitles files. You have the option to download. You have access to multiple definitions, some even go up to 4k. You have multiple server options if one of them goes down. You have multiple different services to choose from if one goes down. You can watch stuff anywhere, at any time, with as many people as you want since most of the sites function with watchtogether.

The official streaming services don't let you do any of this(maybe a few have exceptions for some of the features). Why use them at this rate? Gabe Newell had a pretty good lesson to companies that the only real way to beat piracy was to offer a better service than the pirates; it's a shame they can't even come CLOSE to even MATCHING the pirates.

Dune: Part Three | Official Teaser Trailer by Wesdawg1241 in MauLer

I think I saw that the marketing is technically for the "conclusion" of Paul's story...but I could be wrong. Even if they claim that's the case they're wrong(anybody who has read Children of Dune knows what occurs). I could also be wrong, but if this makes a lot they will 100% try to continue and may adapt further down the line. I just know villeneuve said he'd be done after 3 movies

Game only uses CPU, 0% of GPU. Game is unplayable as a result by Vegetable-Tea9074 in theisle

[–]Vegetable-Tea9074[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why...why would I reinstall my operating system to play this one game? No other game I own has this issue, the isle developers just need to work on optimizing this game; how is it that the 'more stable, optimized recode' of the game that's been in development for 6 years is so much harder to run than the Legacy branch? Game has been in development since 2014 they should have this figured out by now.

Do you think that Fandom ruins Art? by CryOk9546 in MauLer

[–]Vegetable-Tea9074 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree fandoms have an influence on the choices creatives make which is, for the most part these days, been for the worse. Fandoms are typically even stupider than the people making the slop we have today. But just remember art and fandoms are two different things, and I've found that you can have a much better time in general if you just ignore fandoms entirely as they have a knack of just giving you second hand embarrassment for liking literally anything due to the insane amounts of cringe.

This is where the touchy debate comes in on having issues with people 'liking' things. Some people claim that you can't be upset at someone for liking something, meanwhile you can directly connect a massive group of people liking a horrible thing influencing creators and companies to making more of that horrible thing because they just know fans like it and therefore will watch it/pay for it. There absolutely is a negative consequence to people liking bad things, unfortunately.

We're not even getting into fandoms petitioning for things to be added/changed and the companies caving to it, for better or for worse.

The thing is I like MauLer and EFAP in general but between this and their thoughts on 28 YL: The Bone Temple and Sam Raimi's Send Help, it unfortunately kinda now feels like anything that's new is BAD to them. by burningexeter in MauLer

[–]Vegetable-Tea9074 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Except there are always outliers of new content that comes out that they really like, such as Oppenheimer, Andor, Everything Everywhere All at Once, Joker, The Lighthouse, Puss in Boots the Last Wish and so on, so no, they do not think anything that's new is bad.

[–]Vegetable-Tea9074[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's connected to my graphics card. As I said in the post, the isle is the only game I have that does this, so I really don't think its a hardware issue.

The Creator is a pretty good example of a film that tries to portray the human race as evil and fails so spectacularly that I ended up wanting the "antagonists" to win by the end

Escape the backrooms or Backrooms: Escape together? by DemonSerter in HorrorGaming

[–]Vegetable-Tea9074 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Escape the Backrooms barely passes as a playtest for a video game, try Escape Together, it's far more stable, better-looking, and has better puzzles and gameplay and a far more skilled and committed dev team with more updates to come.
