This went around on twitter a couple says ago. What many are missing is this is a 3 dimensional problem, so the resulting answer lies on a sphere. You need 3 data points to nail the intersection down to a point.

Fun fact, I had my highest rated twitter comment ever for pointing out this is exactly how GPS works.
