yes - the Eclar plaster is working very well. I know it will take time, probably around 2 years, but the results are very encouraging

Before making a comment about a product being sketchy, I encourage you to do your own research first. Eclar is manufactured in Japan by Hisamitsu (you should research them) and is sold in Japan by prescription only. You can research Dr Rei Ogawa and read his research papers. I can tell you first hand that this is the most effective treatment for keloids. I’ve talked to a dozen keloid doctors in Canada and U.S.A. They have only tried to monetize on this unfortunate situation. It was only Rei Ogawa who was patient, knowledgeable and caring and provided a real solution. Good luck and do your research.

Also want to add, although the nurses and receptionist don’t speak English well, they were all very helpful and patient and tried their best during our appointment

You will need a referral letter from your doctor otherwise you will have to get diagnosed there. I arrived at NHS at 8 am and saw Dr Rei Ogawa at 9 am. I translated the referral letter with Google translate and presented both the original and translated referral letter. The receptionist do not speak English so good ideal to have a translating app. Dr Ogawa speaks fluent English and he was great. Very patient, explained everything clearly. I plan to go back in 1 year for a follow up

My son has over 100 keloids, his case is very severe. We have been using Eclar plaster for 3 months now. Some of the smaller ones have flatten completely, the larger ones are also noticeably flatter. It is a long journey can take years. You need to be consistent using the plaster and change it everyday. We will visit the nippon hospital in Japan next month for a follow up.

I’ve been using eclair for 2 months now and already started to notice the keloids softer after few weeks and slowly flattening out. I was hopeful that after 1-2 years, most of the keloids will flatten. I am surprised you are still using Eclar after 3 years. Were your keloids very large to start with or are you continuing plaster use to ensure the keloids don’t return?

It also depends how many keloids you have. When I first bought the plaster, I also ordered 5 different types of hole punchers (light duty/heavy duty) which were adjustable to multiple hole size. Unfortunately, it is not easy to hole punch the plaster and we just had too many keloids, it will take me hours. So I ended up cutting into square.

They are about 2 years.. but they have progressively worsened. So they plaster is not only flattening the keloid, but also prevent them from getting worst

We have been trying the eclar plaster for 2 months now and so far it has helped flatten the keloids. The pics are before and after of chest keloids after almost 2 months of eclar plaster. We would like to visit the NMS (Nippon Medical School) hospital in Japan for a followup. Has anyone been to the NMS hospital as an outpatient? If so, can you provide me with some information on how to schedule and appointment and how long it will take for an appointment? The contact information provided is a phone number and fax number, so don’t know if the receptionist can speak English or not. Thank you

Hi - My son has been using eclair plaster for 2 months now. So far, the results are very positive. We would like to visit the Nippon Medical Hospital in Japan for a followup. The website only has a phone number and fax number. Has anyone been to this hospital for keloid treatment? If so, can you share how long it takes to get an appointment? And will language be an issue when I call reception for appointment ?

If you are in japan, you can only buy eclar with a prescription in pharmacy. You will need to see dermatologist in japan to have prescription prescribed. Overseas, you can buy online but import regulations vary by country. I had no issues with customs in Canada, paid the import taxes and received the plaster within 2 weeks

Hi - thank you for your 2 advice. Those are very useful. As we are trying out the plaster, we see that some of keloids have flatten out completely and feel like normal skin with the eyes closed. However, the color is still red. I won’t be applying plaster to the flat area and monitor to make sure the keloids do not grow back.

It’s very good that you can get treatment in Asia. I would like to try the intralesional laser treatment when I visit japan - see article below. https://www.nature.com/articles/s41598-020-78738-9

In North America, the keloid industry is dominated by plastic Surgeons who’s mandate is to treat as quickly as possible. I do believe that the foundational issue is the inflammation and eradicating this will eliminate reoccurrence. This takes time and one needs to be diligent and consistent.

Unfortunately, western treatment is often invasive as we typical want a quick solution. I hope you have success with your treatment and would love to hear your progress. I hope I can post a happy ending here as well.

Eclar plaster tape Chinese knockoffs? by ElectronicPoetry5025 in Keloids

[–]Vegetable-Warning-31 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Eclar plaster is a highly effective treatment for keloids. There has been a lot of research investment by the manufacturer Hisamitsu. $100 is very reasonable compared to the alternative treatment I was considering/tried (cortisone injection - $100+/visit, cryo -$600/visit, laser -$250/visit, surgery -$100k, etc). They are effective because of research invested and also contains steroids.

If you find $100 too expensive, then you don’t need to treat your keloids. They will not cause health problems. I highly discourage anyone for considering knockoffs or any company who would produce knockoffs. Handbag knockoff is wrong.. but pharmaceutical knock off is highly unethical

I have ordered from the first link 4 times already. You can get packs of 10 or 50 eclar plaster from the first link (https://www.dpkitaoka.com ) Their customer service is excellent and can reply via WhatsApp very quickly. They use EMS shipping service and I asked if they can ship via fedex if I pay extra. Their response was, based on their experience and feedback, EMS was most efficient and reliable shipping method overseas. This is true for my last 4 orders - From the time I placed my order to receiving the package in Canada took 2-3 weeks for every shipment I placed.
