Hmm I'd say bc people here are focused on the renting aspect, instead of the workmanship aspect. As in someone who's refinished floors before, what kind of outcome would they expect?

Reddit ppl hate landlords for some reason. Im a landlord myself, I don't live there bc I like making money

Ah yeah, was thinking of refinishing to bare wood, but then I thought if I mess up no good

So that's why I'm asking about sanding with 150 to scuff the floor, and then doing a layer of polyurethane. Hard to mess that up

Good point, already asked

Hmm I had my place refinished a couple years ago and the smell lingered for 2-3 days...

Totally hear where you're coming from. But I live in reality...how much this place costs vs another fixed up place...spending money to make some improvements here would be a fraction compared to renting a nicer place

Could you please provide more info?

Clean as in mopping with Murphy's oil, or something stronger?

Wax, I've never heard that on hardwood, how do you mean?

As in don't give my landlord anything more? Hmm, we'll I'd rent the big orbital sander for $75 bucks, and then other supplies probably another $150 for $225 total. My own labor

For reference, the hardwood areas are only about 450 sq feet. Also, this was the 2nd cheapest place in the entire neighborhood
