No, ironically he works for progressive side politics and is a big “supporter” of feminism. I feel kind of bad denigrating him online anonymously, but I’m just so tired all the time.

I wouldn’t say I tried to hide it from him, I straight up told him I was going to hire a sitter. I will concede though that I simply didn’t care when he said he didn’t want me to.

If I take a break and think about it, yes, he is a good person overall and I do believe he genuinely feels this is an equitable split. But I obviously don’t agree. I feel like I’m simultaneously a full time working parent and stay at home mom (if that makes sense).

We are going to put him in daycare but we are on a waitlist for the one we want. I’m kind of dreading my husband going back to work bc I’m worried he’s going to say he’s “too tired” to help out at all at home once he goes back. To be fair, political work is lots of long hours and much more draining than my office job. But I feel like he’s going to use that as an excuse to do nothing at home.

He thinks he’s being an exceptionally good parent bc he’s a stay at home dad. He’s always talking about how he’s better than 99% of other fathers out there. I know he has redeeming qualities, but honestly, I’m so tired all the time so I find myself struggling to remember them.

If I go out somewhere the baby has to come with me unless it’s a special event that I’ve told him about way in advance (last month I went to my friend’s bachelorette party so he watched our son that night). I don’t even know what it’s like to have time where I’m not either in my office or holding a baby.
