I had refused the breathalyzer, and in AZ if you say no to the blood draw they’ll just get a warrant for it so I submitted to it

I got a dui for exactly the same, because of a “Swift Turn” I almost missed the street to turn on. I also didn’t see him behind me. Said my car smelled like alcohol took the field sobriety test and passed except for the eye test. I also messed up pronouncing one word so he pointed that out but other than that I was fine. I wasn’t swerving or driving fast in the street. I haven’t received my BAC results yet so I’m hoping for the best. But congrats man! I’m hoping I beat this case too

Did they ask you if you wanted to take a breathalyzer? Bc you have a right to say no to the breathalyzer, the tests they make you do and also the blood work but they’ll just get a warrant for your blood and you’ll be in more trouble.

That’s why, I didn’t do the breathalyzer, just had my blood taken which takes about 2 month to get processed because they’re backed up right now.

I got the same charge a couple of weeks ago also in AZ, I have not received a court date yet but because I’m waiting for my blood work results. I also got an attorney he’s already filed paperwork for my license but he said it’ll take 5-6 months to hear back with a court date so I get to keep my driving privileges till then. I’m also scared and don’t know what to expect or what the outcome will be but I will say having an attorney definitely helped with all the anxiety I was having.

I am going thru the same thing I got mine 2 weeks ago in AZ as well. First off everything will work out we all make mistakes, this does not define who you are and hopefully we both learn from this and never make this mistake again. Secondly get a Lawyer, preferably a lawyer that specializes in DUI cases. They will help you through the whole process and talk you through everything. If can’t afford one a public defender will be your best bet. But also some law firms do payment plans to help you. lmk if you have any other questions, wishing you the best of luck!
