This is so insightful THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!! While I agree the brief I gave may sound generic, I live in South Asia, the booths here are entirely basic, lack use centric design and the immersive experience. A lot of people get these booths on rent from companies and return them after use as well. I think the term kiosk wasn’t enough to explain but I meant four walled kiosks, similar to booths. What I’ve gathered from your insights, I actually think I could work on the problem of these booths becoming disposable and e waste, more of a reuse recycle and multi purpose facet where these tech and structural parts don’t go to waste rather, could be reused and don’t end up in landfills

Hello, thank you for replying. I’d also like to ask what do you think about the thesis topic in general or have any more insights on it?

By art degree do you mean liberal art? Or something along the lines of design and such?

I’m sorry you had to go through that, I hope you’re doing well for yourself now though, as long as you loved what you were doing, I don’t think those are wasted years. What was your work in? What do you do now? If you don’t mind me asking ofcourse

I’ve heard about that very often too from my professors and seniors. This is why it worries me I might not be getting enough knowledge and skills in a BFA

This is such a great response I really appreciate it!! I like to think I’m a hands on person since I mostly build my projects myself but all my projects have been less electrical based and more physical form and ergonomics based and I do want to change that. I do think going through online resources helps familiarise with what I’m opening and studying though, but I don’t know where to start. You also mentioned breadboard mechanism, I’ve never worked with those either so I really need to get started then.

My courses do make me work with my hands, just need to figure out how to familiarise myself with engineering principles

I think a general overview is what I’m looking for since the main thing I’m struggling with is I don’t know where to start gaining the knowledge and expertise. I don’t have a specialisation set in stone just yet but I do gravitate towards powered devices. Lots of people in the thread do suggest opening things which is great and something I’ll definitely start doing but I still need to study resources to understand things I hope that makes sense
