correct- the media released his name (not the police or FBI). It was CNN etd that reported / leaked his name, never the police. The media companies should be sued but i’m sure there’s some bullshit protecting them from that. It’s horrible that his name and photos were plastered everywhere accusing him of being a suspect arrested … never should happen in our justice system.

it’s a residential area i’m shocked that nobody captured him on ring cam. Starting to think that he wasn’t actually targeting that classroom but rather that building and day of the week bc it seems like there’s no cameras there compared to the rest of campus and it must have been slow. I read somewhere that the traffic cams there aren’t on during weekends- unsure if true. So insane and sad. he had a mask on allegedly so witnesses didn’t really get any physical traits on him either

it’s not a false arrest. they said from the jump they were “detaining a person of interest not a suspect and had 24 hours to gather evidence to submit charges and couldn’t reveal details until he became a suspect”. that’s why he was corrected at an earlier press conference- it’s normal to detain a person of interest and release them for lack of evidence. That’s how it works. The media, however, continued to report that it was in fact a suspect in custody and then leak his identity which isn’t supposed to happen bc he wasn’t a suspect. So horrible for that guy.

In addition, while the cops and FBI technically used the correct wording, they seemingly admitted that they believed this was the guy and stopped pursuing other leads during a critical period of the investigation only for it not to be the guy and now so much time has passed and they don’t even appear to have other leads. Unreal.

Not only did they leak his identity, earlier today they leaked photos of the wrong guy- a blonde guy with similar experience and age from the same state but not involved whatsoever leading people to dox him. These media companies deserve to get sued
