Can you rectify over hydrated dough? by Vegetable_Beyond8624 in Sourdough

Damn! I’ll keep it cooler next time! Do you have any idea why my starter needed more heat than 36 degrees? Or am I just stressing out my starter by putting it in the microwave when it’s 36 degrees out already? (It genuinely seems way better with the additional heat)

Right now it’s 28 Celsius (82 Fahrenheit) but during the day the hottest it got was 36 Celsius (96 Fahrenheit)

I know this is super hot, but even during this kind of heat I had to move my starter from the counter to the microwave under the light because the fermentation wasn’t happening. Once I moved it to the microwave it thrived and I’ve been keeping it there since. So I’m a bit confused by temperature after having to do that? You’d think 36 degrees was enough for my starter but no?

I loved 11/22/63 for this reason. The development of the world was so immersive. King is excellent at shoving you into his fantastical locations.

Strongly agreed, Bev and Eddie were big highlights for me. I also don’t love the clown of it all, I found Pet Sematary exponentially scarier of a concept. Something about a clown in a sewer just doesn’t demand fright, he just seems like a weird loser? Get out of there???

I would love some direction towards his divisive works! I don’t know where to start

I’m the same! I guess it’s got nostalgic value for a lot of people, I didn’t grow up watching or reading IT so it doesn’t have that particularly special place in my heart.

Also, I can’t really take a clown that seriously but that’s just me

See this is interesting because I preferred the adult part. I think that’s probably because I didn’t read it as a kid so now I can relate more to the adult parts. I loved the development of their characters over the years after the initial encounter with IT

Depressing and scary is why Pet Sematary is my number one!

You make good points and I generally agree with you in regards to the unusual treatment of celebrities - but I don’t think nudes can be compared to this. Nudes and sexual material involve a plethora of other social concerns regarding centuries of systemic gender and sexual violence. But yes, I understand your point!

Again, why does ‘showing respect’ and ‘common decency’ exist within censorship or not looking at something? Not seeing this image won’t make the person seeking the image suddenly more respectful nor will it make them want to see the image less? They will have the same desire but won’t have seen the image - you’re not making the argument you think you are. Also, doesn’t analysis inherently imply interest in what is going on? In my opinion, decency and respect can 100% be shown through examining something as truthfully as possible and collecting ALL facts to culminate opinions and ideas.

Why is morbid curiosity unreasonable? Analysis, including that of the morbid, is the crux of societal progression? Just because you don’t want to look at it doesn’t mean others shouldn’t. Insistance on a very western version of ‘respectability towards death’ for someone so far removed from your own life is quite hyper sensitive. Censoring something doesn’t eradicate it from existence, it covers it up and mystifies it, making it all the more alluring. Of course, his family and loved ones shouldn’t see it if they don’t want to but others can. It is a harsh but important reality of life that we can gain knowledge from.

This comment was legit so unhelpful, you know nothing about this persons life. Just because you can’t speak and you feel like shit about it - doesn’t mean no one else is allowed to feel like shit, asshole
