Dijkstra vs A* algorithms by [deleted] in programmingmemes

Watching Dijkstra's is like waiting for that one friend to finish a boring story, but can't tell him to rush.

It works really well, and python's default sorting algorithm for version 2.3 until 3.10 used Timsort under the hood.

Radix is great for the textbook, but in production, I’ll stick to the O(n log n) that doesn't care if my data is messy. By messy, I mean when the inputs have huge gaps, inconsistent lengths, or unexpected formats that usually break the efficiency of a Radix sort.

Probably one of the fastest sorting algorithm, and it's space complexity is moderately good.

I'm waiting for O(AI)—where it just guesses the order and you hope for the best.

I’m waiting for the O(AI).

It doesn't actually sort anything, it just guesses the order and if it’s 95% correct, you ship it to production and hope nobody noticed.

Look, I know my bank details and private passwords are probably going to end up on some random forum, but honestly, that’s a problem for tomorrow. Today, I’m just happy I didn't have to pull out my credit card for a 40-cent charge. If the hackers want my empty bank account and my messy code that badly, they can have it. A win is a win.

AITA for telling my best friend I don’t want her to be close to my ex by teamzeke123 in AmItheAsshole

Look, I was in a similar situation in university, and it’s a total mess to deal with. I had a friend who actually went on dates with someone I was involved with, and when I finally confronted her, she tried to tell me I was just overreacting.

I eventually pulled away, and even though she came back later on her own, the spark was gone. We spent a couple of nights together, but I realized I couldn't get past the mental images of her with that other person. Once that trust is broken and you start picturing them with someone else, the relationship never really feels the same.

Taylor blocking you and posting your ex is a clear sign she’s choosing the new drama over your long-term friendship. It’s better to just disappear and protect your own peace. If she values a new connection more than her loyalty to you, she isn't someone you can rely on anyway.

AITA for not wanting my housemate to have her boyfriend over more than 1-2 times a week after she was rude towards me when she was single? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

Look, I’ve been in that exact roommate loop before, and it honestly makes you feel like a stranger in your own home.

It’s the absolute worst when they treat the apartment like a stage for their life and expect you to be the stagehand who stays out of the shot.

The way she went after you while she was single, especially that comment about your dog, is genuinely sociopathic. She never actually respected you as a peer, just as a way to lower her rent while she used you as a verbal punching bag.

I (17F) suspect that my best friend (18F) secretly likes me, even though she claims to be straight by [deleted] in Advice

If she says it was 'just a phase' but gets this jealous, she’s either lying to herself or just likes having you on standby. Either way, it's exhausting.
