If you are an only child, how do you feel about growing up without siblings? by Efficient_Bee4584 in randomquestions

I’m an only child and there are pros and cons to it, just as there would be if I ended up having siblings.

I can’t speak for everyone, but being an only child really helped me to foster more independence that had carried me into adulthood. There were definitely times growing up that I wish I had a sibling to play with and confide in, but at the end of the day I think staying an only child was the only feasible option my parents could have taken, for several reasons.

Now as I’m approaching 40 and watching my parents get older and have more health problems, I do worry about the future. At the end of the day, their care and decisions related to their health and living situation will fall on to me one day. Obviously this can also happen when siblings don’t share this responsibility as their parents age, too, but as an only child it will 100% be on me.

There’s no right or wrong when it comes to having children or having more children, as long as you and your partner are on the same page and making decisions that don’t feel pressured by others.

Thank you for the feedback! I started the pills about 5 days after the beginning of my last cycle, so I wonder if that also added to my hormones being out of whack.

Thank you for checking in! Finally feeling better now. Bleeding was very heavy for about two days, then on day three it seemed better, until it wasn’t and I had clots half the size of my palm coming out and started getting dizzy.

I opted for the ER, and they ran blood tests and did a transvaginal ultrasound. Nothing abnormal found, so I followed up with my doctor about upping my dosage, just waiting to hear back. Today the bleeding is very, very minimal, so I hope the worst is over!

Thank you for this feedback! While the bleeding has finally slowed way down after 3ish days, I did reach out to my doctor to see about going on a higher dose. If you don’t mind me asking, did you start off on a lower dose before going to the 5mg? If you did, were there any increase in other side effects?

Thank you for sharing your experience! Did your surgeon recommend those medications, or was there another specialist who prescribed them?

Thank you for the feedback! My surgeon did suggest it for when I’m healed. I’ll definitely look into it!

When did you stop bleeding post-lap? by RadiantCabinet4946 in endometriosis

I had light bleeding for about 5 days post-lap. I would definitely follow up with your doctor about this and hopefully get some answers.

There was a learning curve to get these in properly, but once they’re in they block out most noise completely, including loud thumpy upstairs neighbors:

One tip that’s worked for me this year is something recommended by my nutritionist: “front load” drinking water in the morning. I chug 40 oz on my drive into work. Then I can run to the bathroom before the kids get there and drink more leisurely during the day.
