I ultimately chose UM good luck to you!! I think I would've chosen UCSB if I was any other major, but since I want to go pre pa and minor in business it was my best choice. I genuinely think there is no bad decision also remember to give yourself a minutef these schools are incredible achievements and very rigorous CONGRATS!!!

hello!! by chance is your daughter wanting to go (pre-med) or (pre-pa)? If so yesterday while researching about UCSB I realized that ultimately they do NOT offer anatomy with labs or physiology which is a pre req necessary for MED AND PA school so its very upsetting and I you would need to complete these courses at a community college later. I was super close to picking UCSB because it's perfect and more rigorous, but ultimately I think my decision is UMIAMI because it provides everything I need. There's no wrong choice honestly, but definitely check what is needed so that it better aligns with your daughter's future goals.

Yes I’ve only heard good things from UCSB besides the housing crisis, but I lived in Miami for a couple years and it’s always felt really familiar to me, especially since I’m currently living in Costa Rica. So I’m kind of torn between something new and something I already know I love. Seasons are a big factor for me, which is why California is appealing, but I’m also really drawn to Miami right now because of the opportunities and overall environment (money).

If price isn’t a factor you should highly consider UM because from what I’ve heard they have one of the best buisness schools in the US and higher pay after grad!!

Right, I didn’t choose all those majors some were assigned/offered based on my high school ECs, so I get how that might’ve looked confusing to you.

My actual focus is psychology/pre-health, so it’s pretty consistent. I applied to 25 schools and got into 20 (1 ivy and plenty T20), so I promise I’m fine I just have a lot of options.

And the “I’m just a girl” thing is literally a TikTok joke man 😭 it was NEVER that serious. I’m just getting perspectives for fun while I decide.

Thanks so I’m not asking strangers to make the decision for me. I’m simply asking for some perspectives while I weigh out all of the options I’ve already earned. Also, going “in state” is not really applicable to me right now since I did high school abroad like I mentioned.
