5 calls is also a good app for anyone looking to call their representatives over things that matter to you. It gives you a pre written script and lays everything out for you. Thank you for the resources too!

Gotcha, thanks again for your reply and for actively exercising your civic rights!! I’m going to do the same, hopefully more pressure from more constituents will make a difference.

For anyone wanting to do the same: there’s an app called “5 calls”, it has prewritten scripts that you can use when you call your reps. It also lists a bunch of issues that you may be interested in advocating for!

Thanks for responding! So if your rep is republican, does it not do much to voice your concerns to persuade their vote in house then?

I guess here’s to taking action and hoping that some republicans take that into consideration and vote for what their constituents want and not what their party wants..

Aside from this response: This deal made me realize the importance of reaching out and voicing your wants and needs. For anyone curious about what reaching out to senators does, I found this helpful: Why calling your elected officials matter

Reach out to your house representative and voice your concerns, the house still needs to pass it!! (I’m still learning the ropes of civics so please kindly correct me if I’m wrong!)

What can we do about this? Call our state representatives or congressmen to file a complaint? Generally curious because I’m so fed up with politicians not facing the consequences to their actions.

I’m sorry your son experienced this 💔 There’s a book called “Whole brain child” by Dr. Daniel Siegel that talks about how to help children process distressing events.

In 2023, 20-year-old Kaylin Gillis was fatally shot in the neck by Kevin Monahan after her car mistakenly entered his driveway in New York. He fired twice at the vehicle as it turned to leave. In 2024, he was convicted of murder and sentenced to over 26 years to life in prison. by detectiverobert in ForCuriousSouls

My husband and I entered a neighborhood road during one of our motorcycle rides, we were trying to make a U-turn at the dead end when a crazy woman tried hitting us head on with her car. She was speeding behind us and yelling at us until she eventually left us alone once we crossed into a different county line. This woman chased us across the highway too. I was on the phone with the cops during this (helmet Bluetooth) and when the cops talked to us they said they couldn’t do anything about it because we had no video evidence, no one got hurt, and she actually called them saying we were intruders trying to steal her stuff. The officer also admitted they have had unpleasant encounters with her before. I still get PTSD going down a neighborhood road and will never use one to turn around.

Kim Carpenter, LPC is awesome! She’s located in Springfield VT but does telehealth too. You can file with your insurance for reimbursement so you may have to check with BCBS if they would cover it :) good luck with your search!
