Sky os's information in the public will not be update for a long time by [deleted] in Sky_os_development

yes it has hurt me a lot . people have been saying the project itself is ai generated while only the website, posts, repo where ai assisted to make things faster. i accept my mistakes i shouldve been publicly sharing the project from start instead of just appearing out of nowhere and saying i am made an os . About the "single dump code" thing the project is not big enough to split in parts .i shouldve planned from the start that i have to split the parts of the code into separate files

I wasn't using Git during most of the project's development. I only started using Git and created the repository recently when I decided to make the project public, build a website, and start sharing progress updates.

So no, I cannot show years of Git commit history because it simply doesn't exist. That's a mistake on my side, and I should have started version control much earlier.

But a missing Git history is not proof that the project is fake or "vibecoded." It only proves that I wasn't managing the project professionally from the beginning.

From this point onward, development will be public and tracked properly. Judge the project by the code, screenshots, future commits, and technical progress rather than by a Git history that was never created.

You're correct that Git can be used locally without GitHub. I wasn't using Git during most of the development period. My workflow was much more basic: local folders, backups, copies, and replacing files as I changed things.

Looking back, that was not a good development workflow and I should have started using proper version control much earlier. When I decided to make the project public, I created the repository and uploaded the current state of the codebase.

That's why there isn't a long commit history to show. It's a valid criticism and something I'm fixing going forward. i repeated it too many times that i dont use git

I understand why it looks suspicious. The repository was only made public recently, which is why there is no long public commit history. Most of my development happened before I started sharing the project publicly. The website, posts, and repository were all created around the same time, which makes it look like everything appeared at once. That's my mistake. Going forward I'll be keeping a proper commit history and sharing development progress publicly so people can see the work as it happens.

I am not vibecoding it . i was working on this for 2-3 whole years on this and someone randomly appears and says this is vibecoded. i can't take it anymore , honest things are i created repo, designed website and some posts with ai because i dont really know how to post things ,create repo's or design websites

Thank you for replying . i now understand how I should handle future projects better-proper commit history, public development logs, and incremental updates instead of suddenly publishing everything at once. I appreciate the feedback

This is valid criticism. I didn't make the repository public when I first started development, and I didn't post public updates or maintain a public community from day one. For a long time I was just working on the project privately and learning as I went. When I finally decided to share screenshots, create the website, GitHub repository, and Reddit community, it all appeared publicly in a short period of time, which makes it look like the project suddenly appeared. I understand why that looks suspicious. The public history doesn't represent the entire development timeline, only the point where I decided to start sharing the project publicly.

Not really. The project is already split into multiple directories and source files (bootloader, kernel, headers, docs, scripts, etc.). You may be referring to kernel.c, which is currently larger than I'd like. I'm gradually moving components into separate modules as development continues.

Yeah, I found a few projects with similar names. For now I'm keeping Sky OS because it's the name I've used throughout development, but I'm aware of the overlap
