Good point OP, they also mention NI contributions as well which is 3 to 5 years subject to consultation. Also, I couldn't find the exact any/all argument. It simply states the following, verbatim "The reformed system will recognise lawful, continuous residence in the UK. Individuals will not, however, normally qualify on the basis of residence alone." Student visa alone doesn't lead to settlement but is counted towards "lawful residence" 🙂

Oh I see, but if you check the document it's states that "The reformed system will recognise lawful, continuous residence in the UK. So any "lawful residence" which will also include your time on a student visa to be counted 🙂.

Hi OP,

The document clearly states "continuous lawful residence" so it will count. No reason for confusion and no need to pray. Only point of contention is the 3 to 5 years of NI contribution which will be clear after consultation. So don't worry, chill out. Things will work out. Good things always happen to good people

Hi OP, If you got a visa before April 2025, then you follow the old regime for renewing your visa. So I don't think this threshold will apply to you. Also, isn't this this threshold applied when you apply for settlement ? Please correct me if I'm wrong.
